Debt is one of the number one ways to destroy your life. It is the enemy of prosperity and will enslave you to someone that often times does not share in the same risk as you do by taking out the loan. Thank you for being such a positive force for femininity. As a man it is such a relief that woman like you exist and care to teach other young woman the importance of embracing their femininity.

My favorite part was your discussion on reframing luxury for oneself and not using social media as a reference. That's very helpful because one (myself) can easily be disappointed about not having a Chanel bag rather than being grateful for quality items that are affordable.

I really appreciate that you don't exactly go with the flow of modern society. Thinking a little bit old-fashioned doesn't have to be a bad thing and I think you embody that really nicely! :) Just something I missed a little bit in your tips was the environmental impact everyone has with their buying choices. Every purchase is a vote, either for or against the environment or the people who produce our products. I guess you kind of mentioned I when you talked about quality but I just wanted to put that out here again as I think we have a lot of responsibility :) Other than that, great video :) God bless you!

I so appreciate this video. It is so good to know there are other young married women out there who think this way. I harp on budgeting and making our dollars go as far as we can, not because we are poor, but because its wise. Being a good steward of your money is a lost art on our modern day society, and its so good to hear others who think this way. What you mentioned especially about the "Line of Luxury" is just awesome, and I often say things the same way. Things lose meaning when you just do them all the time, and because of it we lose sight of how privileged we are as an American Society. It's crippling.

I love this!!! I’ve made so many substitutions lately, like the ones you’ve listed, to save a few bucks and it has changed my outlook on a lot. I feel like we have been led to believe that we NEED everything, especially since it becomes so many people’s jobs to tell us that we need to consume, consume, consume. And we become to accustomed to consuming those items that we feel that we cannot go without it. I almost feel guilty because when I lived in my parents house, they also consumed as much as the next modern family and they complained that they didn’t have money left to pay the electric bill. I cancelled our cable, so instead of paying $90 for television, I’m paying $11 for Netflix. I’ve bought generic food items, unless the item isn’t made by the store brand; and we don’t try to have a variety of food in the fridge because we don’t care about how many food choices we have. I’ve stopped “treating myself” with clothes that are $40+ all the time and I just browse the sale section and find similar and beautiful items for under $20. My husband and I didn’t have a wedding. We rented a dress and tux and took bridal photos instead of hosting people that we don’t care about for a ceremony. I made my own couch throw pillows myself for half the cost of what Target sells them for. We are a military couple, so we keep that in mind when we collect items like furniture, that we have to move it all when we PCS, and it limits our purchases. We don’t rent a house that’s made for 10 people if we are fine with an apartment made for the two of us and our dog. I’ve taken on more traditional and cheaper cleaning methods instead of spending $4 on a small bottle of Lysol. I stay mindful that even though Instagram bloggers are fun to follow, its not real life for me. I stay inspired by them but I don’t try to take their life. Even though I’m lacking on financial stability because I have to take student loans, I am still in a place where I don’t stay awake at night wondering “how am I going to live and pay that off?” because I have flipped the switch to living more frugal than I used to.

This resonates so much! I was brought up in a working class, single income family in the 90s with a stay at home mom. She and my dad were extremely frugal and bestowed upon me the principles you've touched on here - making do, going without, being creative with the money/resources you have at hand, not buying furniture on credit, etc. Their frugality rubbed off on me and is one of the ways in which I feel I bless my husband because it seriously helps us to keep our money in check and advance toward a more money-positive future together.

Thank you for your video! So enlightening and encouraging... you really got to the heart of a global complex issue. With social media these days it makes people set crazy materialistic goals and creates unattainable expectations all around. So good to focus on what is actually important realistic for me and my lifestyle. Wonderful video!

I needed your channel, even though my family is the traditional homeschool Christian family who seems they would have this kind of influence. I didn't have this for many reasons (my mom getting dementia in my teens) and other things. But I just wanted to say thank you so much for this. When I watched your channel, I realized how much I actually want to live like this. I felt lost and I had no idea this was the lifestyle I wanted. Now that ive found your channel, I feel like I've found myself. Thank you.

New to your channel, this is the first video I have watched. Usually when you find videos on tips for frugal living it’s basic like shop at Aldi or cut cable (which are great and I do). I truly like that your tips are more on the mindset which is a huge battle. Can’t wait for more videos like this.

I love your channel so much. I have always felt like I had to just go out and work and work and work. What I really want is a family. I want children, a husband. I want to put my time into taking care of home, family, health and make art… i have been working through my nursing pre requisites and haven’t had time to even date. So I just dropped a few classes to take care of that!

Since I am plant based I saved a lot of money as a student. My meals are based on rice + vegetables or peas + vegetable. It requires creativity to mix it, cook it to not be bored. Also Im looking for « promotions » (sales ?) on vegetables and It makes it reeally not that expensive. I stopped desert except fruits and basic soya yogurt. Keep things simple and you will save money

I’ve definitely cut back on my grocery consumption and realized you don’t have to have a million different meals every day. I typically eat the same breakfast and lunch and then make a different dinner every night and that’s cut back on our food spending a ton. My kids want the same food every day anyways lol. I’ve also stopped spending on cosmetics the same way and realized I don’t need the newest eye shadow palette or tons of different shampoos so now I only have one of everything and it’s so freeing not having to be concerned about buying something new or different and same goes for clothing. I only purchase new items if they are really special and something I know I’ll get a lot of use out of.

Love your channel and content! I stayed home to raise and home school our four children. During this time I thoroughly enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom/wife, doing all those wonderful, rewarding tasks including gardening, canning, sewing, etc. Now, I am an empty nester, with our youngest a freshman in college. My mind wanders to retirement years.....will there be enough? I thought I could stay home but now am second guessing that choice. I am reminded to trust in the Lord, and yet there is the practical side wondering if we will have enough. I guess my question is, "As a homemaker, do you feel you will have enough money in retirement?"

You are so brave talking about this! It’s not easy to say to others I don’t have the money for that and etc, the society are trying to make us feel shameful for it. But it’s so important to be satisfied with the things you have and the budget you have. And that it’s nothing to be ashamed of. You can have a happy and joyful life!
