I am older and starting a hobby with a specie of kingsnakes and have really enjoyed this and all your videos. Been out of the reptile business for many years, but only going to hobby breed now. That's a great story and you're still young so plenty of time to recoup what you originally spent.

It happens even to the greatest a big collection of reptiles is alot to chew sometimes I learned to focus on only certain ones until I get it down then proceed to move on

How are things going in 2022? Wishing the best man! I’m getting into my first year of breeding. Have a good mentor so trying to make the least amount of mistakes possible. Already made a few but doing good now! Got 4 pairs breed ready. I’m from Louisiana! Love the La Pines!! Different, but I have a ‘21 pair of Great Basin Gophers! Those will be next years project

I was sorry to hear that you lost so many ball pythons to IBD, but this had some positive results, in that you got into less mainstream species, which, given the saturation of the ball python market later on, might have been a saving grace. You clearly have huge drive and resourcefulness, plus a deal of courage, and you deserve every success. Good luck!

Good story

I bet alot more people than will admit it had to do it that way. I think it's often a process of feeling around for what works and it isn't always linear. There are a few in the hobby that started off with a ton of capitol, but the average person probably doesn't. I'm making some money for my snake hobby by breeding pet rats which I can sell for more than feeder prices, but now that Facebook is trying to stand in the way of animal breeders I have run into alot of barriers although many local customers have come from there through the buy and sell Georgia groups. Will probably have to hire somebody to set up my template on blogger to have a web presence there because I bought a domain name and then I tried for hours the other day to set it up to look like my rattery page on Facebook with a banner across the top showing a Fawn rat and litter but was never able to figure out how to customize it. My rattery page was unpublished a few days ago then it was restored, then one of my posts from July 11th was deactivated (not because of animal sales but based on their explicit sexual content rules, however I don't know how pictures of rats is interpreted as in any way explicit sexual content), so now I can't post publicly anywhere, then my PM function was also deactivated. Althought it provided a box to tell them it is incorrect, it won't let me respond to Facebook to appeal it and give an explanation beause that is PMing them to do so! Now I have to wait it out until Monday.
