How I started testosterone (in Norway) | FTM, Norwegian with Eng sub

Hia! I’ve gotten a lot of requests to make a RU-vid video where I speak Norwegian, and I’ve also gotten many on how I started testosterone. Since I started T in Norway, I thought it’d be simpler if I made this video in Norwegian, as I know a lot of these terms in my native language as I went through the process here. I hope you like it!
Also, when making the captions I didn’t always translate directly because as I was editing I found things I could’ve said instead. So if you’re watching this in Norwegian and what I’m saying is a tiny bit confusing, you can turn on the English captions and hopefully that helps, I think I maybe clarified things a little bit more there.

FAQ:
“Name?”
Kovu Kingsrod (pronounced k-oh-vu). Yes, like the guy from the Lion King. Legally, my surname is spelt with the Norwegian letter "ø", but I usually drop it online ;)
“Where are you from?”
A town called Fredrikstad in Norway, my accent is not a stereotypical Norwegian accent though! :P
"How old are you?"
17, I was born the 6th of September 2001
"What are your pronouns?"
He/him, I'm a guy :)
"What camera do you film with?”
My Canon g7x mark ii, occasionally my iPad, hehe
"What editing software do you use?" iMovie and/or Movavi Video Suite 12
I hope you’ve had a good week so far!
- Kovu

Gabríel Grimm that’s so cool! I find Icelandic very hard to understand, I can only sometimes find similar words and roughly figure out what is being said, but danish is easier for me (naturally, as we were united with them for a long time so they influenced our language a lot) :P

Jeg fant jo denne personen da jeg så etter videoer om «how to come out to [insert name/person here]». Dette var da veldig hjelpsomt og spennende, og jeg fikk jo en god latter av det, så det var jo bra. By the way, Nicholas er ikke det «ekte» navnet mitt. Alle som «kjenner» meg, kjenner meg som Linde. Jepp. Linde. That's it. Linde.

I had no idea it was so difficult to get hormones in Norway. In Belgium we have one gender clinic at a hospital, really well managed and helpful people, although the waitlist is about half a year. Once you've started the sessions you need to go through a year (less if you're not a minor) of talking to a psychologist there, and then you can get hormones. I'm about halfway through that year now, but it's crazy to me how much trouble you have to go through in your country, compared to that it's actually been rather easy here. Super happy for you that you made it work and got your hormones :)

Timing, typos, terminology that doesn't quite translate entirely from one language to the other...(I've had to do subtitles for videos. No translations, though.) Not to worry! I've got the solution: We'll all simply have to learn Norwegian! 😆 Thank you for replying, and especially for your great videos. Keep being yourself. 😄 Also, I nearly squealed when I saw your reply. You speaking your native language made me really happy idk why😂 But I really wish my parents were that supportive. I’m bi and I told them, but not that I really want to be a boy.

When you’re half Danish, half Faroese and have family in Norway as well, so you literally understand all 3 languages, and you’re just sitting here picking apart the differences between the 3, it’s quite interesting😂 Sounds like the healthcare system in Norway is quite similar to here(denmark), which doesn’t really surprise me. Good system, but when it comes to things like trans, we’re definitely lacking in some major points. I’ve heard from trans friends that the system here is incredible long and hard to get through, and only a handful of people actually make it through and get access to things like hormones. Some years back there was a doctor who provided treatment to a lot of trans people here because of this issue, but our Rigshospital found out and was obviously not pleased.. he had to shut down leaving so many without any access to hormones, it’s quite scary to think about Proud of you for making it trough a rather tough Nordic system so far, and I really hope your journey will continue without too many obstacles in the future!

I was watching this and didn't notice you were speaking norwegian. So I thought I was going insane and didn't know how to understand english anymore.
