Thank you for sharing all this information with us. I’ve just started trying to film myself and my dad fishing and hunting together. The mistakes are easy to make and sometimes you miss that incredible moment.
Thank you so much for making this video Gene! For years I’ve always wondered what you run for camera and audio gear from the good the bad and the ugly when fishing in your boat as I watch to learn more of bass fishing through your insights and knowledge. Keep up the good work and keep us posted down the road for more camera gear knowledge and tips 👍🏻👍🏻
Just as we like to get tips and tricks for fishing....some of us like to get tips and tricks for other things too. To say that it is appreciated that you share your trial and errors to help us save time, money and frustration is an understatement. Wouldn't mind more videos about video equipment, recording, editing etc... 👍👊🎣
Good morning fluke! I'm not particularly interested in doing filming myself just can't get into it. But I find it interesting to see how others do it. So thanks for the video as it explains some of the questions I had in my own mind as to how certain things are done. Just not for me to do. Glad you're doing it and you do a great job. Thanks again.
Completely agree on looping. I can’t imagine why that feature is not standard across cameras. A camera without it is virtually useless in my opinion. Good info, but disappointed there aren’t links to the equipment though.
Gene, does the new Sony FDR X3000 give you the ability to do the 5 minute segments to save Sd card space like the GoPro’s or is just one large file? Also, are you recording in 4K and 60 frames/sec? Great info as always sir!
HEY!!! i'm so glad you made this video!!! Record is difficult and you just taught me about looping. I hate record so much junk and bringing it home for editing. Thank you so much! i'm so glad i subscribed the other day haha You have me stoked. Thumbs up.
great video gene always cool to see what someone s using to film. I run my go pros on 10 min intervals myself for the same resons easier to down load smaller files and I can delete any footage that I do not want before I up load it to my editing software.
Hey Gene, one of the best tips i have learned about wireless microphones is from parker walbeck on you tube. He says for best audio, tape your microphone to the inside of your shirt about 6 to 8 inches down from your collar. That might help with the audio clipping.
It would be cool to watch you find baitfish or Bass on the Fish Finder , mark the spot , turn around and position your boat to fish the spot. Thanks for many great tips.
I cant find any information on this Please help? I run a go pro hero 4 my viewers are complaining about notbeing able to hear me. What Mic can I get to help with this? Awesome video amd awesome filming stuff you have. Im just starting out and would love any advice! Thanks in advance!
Mike, Gene's mics are made by Rode. Not sure of the models, but they are very good. Just a bit pricey for starting out. I recently got a set of BOYA BY-WM2g off Amazon. They seem to work great with the Hero 4 but I have not had a chance to try them out in the boat yet.
Hate when a fishing trip turns into an infomercial! But that set up is great! We've gone to 5 gopros and a 360 cam so we're covered. Great video set up for sure.
@@Flukemaster honestly, the ability to import the 360 footage and render it into our videos is a bit challenging but we're working on it to add the VR 180 ability to our fish catches. We will see how that goes here real soon. Love the channel bud, outlaw told me to watch your channel to get filming ideas and it has really changed my game. Thanks bud.
Flukemaster good to hear. I’m in the market for some filming gear to start documenting my fishing. Still not sure if I want to make RU-vid content or not. Or just fish catching highlight “reel”
What a great video and not because you mention us :) Very helpful to see all your gear. DJI Osmo Action finally put looping in their camera, just gotta update the firmware. Keep up the great work Gene! #AlwaysBeRecording
Yes I have, I just picked up a Sony ZV-1. It's the best vlogging camera out there and it works perfect for what I do. I just wish it had looping so I could leave it running in the front of the boat. I still use the same camera setup for that.
I'm surprised you dont have a drone yet! Could make for some cool off boat fish landing videos. Awesome video on making videos :) Now go catch that dumb fish that's been outsmarting us all today.
