Thank you, Rachelle for confirming what I've just discovered after a year of struggling with my larger head size. I always followed the direction of putting my hair in a low pony to anchor my wigs and they would never fit properly. I just recently started lightly twisting it at the nape and securing it with the EXACT same clip you're using here...only I use 2 in opposite directions. Voila! Never dreamed it would make such a difference. :) LOVE the suggestion to use damp hair to help stretch out the caps. THANK YOU!
I've been wearing a wig now for over 2 years because I've gotten extremely thin on top of my head. I don't want to wear a wig cap and I'm always in a rush in the mornings. I've been putting my hair in a pony tail and then splitting it in half and clipping it up the sides. I searched all over today to find out how to do this without ending up with such a knob on the back of my head. I think you solved my problem! Make the elastic looser! Thank you! I would not have thought of that!
Finally, a fellow caucasian with wild bio hair. Wigs saved me from misery starting in 1968. I had ivory skin with deep brown hair that would go wild in even modest humidity. People were really cruel. Today, at 72, the wild gray hair has thinned, and I'm back to wearing wigs. So much easier. Thanks, you're lovely.
Hi I just wanted to add that I have hair similar to yours but I tie my bio hair in loose pigtails and clip them cross ways around the back of my hair which illiminates the lump at the back. Gives a more natural look and saves size. 😊
I do the exact same thing as you. On the days I shower but don’t wash my hair I get the ends of my hair a little wet so it will lay flat. On the days I wash my hair I put it up damp and out my wig on. I do use the bamboo cap with the built in wig grip so it’s all contained. Also with my bio hair my circumference is 22.5 so I feel like the wig grip helps holds the wig on my head.
Thank you Rachelle! I’m new to wigs and have a large head 22.5 - 23, I would love to know which brands of wigs, synthetic for now, fit you the best and if you can fit Rene of Paris/ noriko / envy ? Thanks again
Belle tress, Estetica, and Henry Margu fit a larger head best. Norkio is a no way. Envy is pushing it for me at 22.5. I haven't worn much Rene Of Paris. I've heard the run a true medium with the exception of the Orchid collection which runs smaller.
I'm shocked that I use exactly the same things to tie up my hair. I have long fuzzy hair too.. I use argan oil in my ends instead of water. My thoughts are that I'm conditioning at the same time. Thanks for posting
I moved to human hair wigs and am a lot happier as the caps fit me better to accommodate my bio hair. I'll never cut my bio hair that short. I still have enough to do pool hair and pony tails in hats. Plus the pony anchors the back of my wigs. To each their own though 🙂
@@Rachellegrabs That’s interesting- only human hair! Do you have to blow dry / style them very often? Do you switch them out a lot like we tend to do with synthetics? I haven’t even tried a HD yet.
Oh my…! I Wish I could wear mine with nothing !!! My wig slides everywhere and off and back off my hairline if I don’t secure with a grip or clips It would fly away 😳.
@@Rachellegrabs my circumference is about 22 3/4 to 23. And that is with baby thin bio hair.. My hair is very thin over my entire head. You can see my scalp in several places. I have a autoimmune disease. I Was dx when I was 22 and I’m 46 now. My hair has just slowly thinned over the years. I wore custom human hair toppers for years ( expensive ) , then I converted to just full wigs. I wear only Belletress. It’s the Only brand that feels most real to me. And worth the the extra care . But yes, I wear the Milano wig grip. I do a small pony in the back and it helps to keep my wig grip down to . . I have tried a lot of grips, the Milano has done best for me. My hair is just fine and slick lol I use gel on my bio hair sometimes under my wig grip or where I have clips and it’s just helps secure even more. Also, I sew clips around the perimeter of some of my wigs and just set my wig over my bio hair and clip it in. I keep my bio hair a medium ash brown and it matches the rooting in most of my wigs. I wear the blondes right now. Anyways that’s more than you asked me but I enjoy talking with wig sisters!! Thanks for your reviews , videos, etc!!!! Very much appreciated 💕😊 Also***The Belletress are big head friendly. After a little wear they usually conform to my head. With a brand new wig , I occasionally wash it then let it dry on my block head and that helps stretch the cap if I need to do that do .
my real issue is with my crown, its almost bald there, and it is so hard finding one that looks like its my hair,, im a redhead but now of course i have blonde streaks .. im 60
