The one tip I can share.. ten years ago, I had a credit card maxed out, no real savings, and just a car. I had a decent job, even a side hustle at times. Like my friends, I spent it as fast as it came in. Went into collections prior to that for a few unpaid bills. Biggest problem is I would just try to forget about the situation, rather than take hold of the situation and have a plan to fix it in increments. Today, I have lots of savings and a ton of credit. Saving became a habit. A couple of friends are stìll living pay to pay, no savings 10 yrs later, made roughly the same $ as I did in that time. It all boils down to changing your habits, making a commitment and sticking with it. I dont have children, however. I really admire your determination to save money while raising a family.
