For simplicity next time you can just wire it in parallel. Run the passenger side light wire to the driver side through the inside of the bumper and then just one connection powering both bumper reverse lights into the driver side tail light. I have that same front and rear bumper from Hooke Road. Love it looks great!

Rear lights were the first change I made to my Jeep. As soon as I saw your original wiring, I recognized the same mistake I made. The confusion scene was hilarious and added a laugh. You’ve got some great content here… I’m subscribing!

If you like liquid electrical tape, you will love shrink tube. It is by far the best way to insulate a soldered wire.

Dale, the key to soldering good connections is flux paste. its like a grease, you put it on your wire before you twist them together and it makes a huge difference on how the solder flows into the wire, works like a champ👍

Wouldn’t you want to put the lights on a relay? Is the factory wiring big enough to handle the added load? 🤷‍♂️

Dale: Just wondering why once you had the drivers side spliced and working, you just didn't run one second hot wire to the passenger side light that is mounted on the bumper. That way they would share the same ground and it would save you having to splice the original tail light on the passenger side which was much more difficult? Possibly hide the second hot wire in the bumper itself. Don't know if its possible, just asking.

I was going to suggest the same thing! I’d also add an Anderson disconnect to one end of the harness to make removing the bumper easier.

Hi Dale, I have a 90 YJ that I’m having issues with my LED light swap out. About 2 years ago I bought a set of Quadratech LED tail lights. The lights came with an LED compatible flasher and the instructions showed which standard flasher to remove when swapping out the incandescent stock lights for the LEDS. Everything worked great. Flash forward and I was watching another RU-vidrs YJ Chanel where he had swapped out the incandescent front turn signal bulbs with a pair of sylvania LEDS. I got the recommended bulbs and flasher and installed them and now I have a “slow flash” when the turn signals are on and when I turn in the headlights the turn signals don’t work and the green arrows on the dash stay lit. Any suggestions? Thanks, Marty P.S do you have any thoughts about the Howell TBI fuel injection systems for the 4.2? I currently have the stock 2bbl and it’s a dog.
