All our Mantic Clutch Kits include the proper throwout bearing per application. In this video, we will take a minute to discuss proper T/O bearing operation, also called a CSC or slave cylinder.
Various applications may require a spacer for the bearing. Spacers DO NOT change how far the bearing travels, it only changes how close the bearing is to the fingers on the clutch.
With our Mantic Clutches, we like to see the bearing compressed about a 1/2" when installed in the vehicle, to ensure its going to work properly when in use.
The Master Cylinder dictates how far the bearing is going to travel and how much pedal travel you will have. Using an Adjustable Master Cylinder allows more fluid displacement to move the bearing, which in turn moves the fingers of the clutch further.
A simple bench test to check the operation of the throwout bearing can be done to verify how much travel you have, with our Mantic clutch kits, we like to see about (0.400) for proper function, the C7 Corvette likes about (0.370).

Do you grease the input shaft before you fit the bearing over the shaft ? Or does the input shaft never touch the bearing sleeve ?

Yeah the CSC concept is kind of foreign to me as well. I've been fighting a high RPM lockout issue on my 2010 Mustang GT since I got it. I've done all the upgrades to fix the issue, yet it's still there. And now it's progressed to the point of the trans itself is now acting up (grinding going into 3rd gear). The clutch still grabs hard and I have yet to feel it slip but apparently the slave is just not pushing the fingers far enough. Never in my life have I changed a clutch that wasn't slipping but I guess that is the issue. To make matters worse, the OEM service manual (Ford OEM manual, not Haynes or anything) for my car says NOTHING about this process of to get the travel correct. Thank you for the video, this pretty much summed up and solved my issue and I'll be clutch / trans swapping shortly and I'll more than likely be getting a Mantic clutch if its available for this car.

Yeah you should be good with a new clutch and shifter assembly.

@@Its_3055 Oh I'm going to be real good once I get it installed, lol. Rebuilt Lashbrook trans, Exedy hyper Twin organic and all the supporting mods. I've already got literally every single shifter mod I can throw at it. MGW shifter, Stainless clutch line, power torque steel body clutch master, CHE torque limiter, AMP bronze bushings and a blowfish V2 shifter bracket.

Why does some installation warns not to push bearing prior to installation, what damage can it cause? Also can pulling vacuum from the master cylinder reservoir cause the bearing to retract and cause damage?

Hello, What effect the clutch pedal force? pressure plate spring or Clutch Master Cylinder or Slave Cylinder?

It still seems weird to me that the throw out bearing is always pressed against the pressure plate fingers even when fully disengaged. I just replaced the clutch in my F-150 and the whole concept seemed so wrong

I can't hear anything, and my system volume is at 100%, so is the player volume.
