The biggest reason Gundogan left Barcelona was because Hansi Flicks told him that he's not going to be in the starting eleven but will be a third or fourth substitute meaning Gundogan will get less playing time, something Gundogan didn't like. Flicks was asked about Gundogan in the pre media briefing for Barcelona and Valencia game an he said it will be hard for him to play Lewandowski and Gundogan in the same starting eleven with Gundogan playing behind Lewandowski because they are both old and don't have the energy anymore. Both will compromise the intensity system of Hansi especially when defending because Hansi want his front attacking players to be his first line of defense by pressing opponents defense which needs speed and pace for 90 minutes.

@neymarjr3712 let's see how it goes.. he was okay with gundo, and all of a sudden, gundo was surplus to requirement.. the club do not want to be at fault, so they make the coach take the fall on their behalf, but as God would have it, gundo's team made it clear that it is because the club are having financial difficulties- hence their decision to send him out. I wish flick well, but I see him being betrayed in the end.
