Back in the days of Napster (aka before RU-vid) all I did was scour the world for street fight vids. I came across Masvidal when he fought some guy who I believe was being trained by Kimbo Slice (Kimbo was in the vid as a quasi ref). The guy seemed to be almost twice his size, and Masvidal seemed to just walk out of the crowd, tied his hair up and then served that guy up bad. They fought again in someone's backyard and Masvidal beat him again. I've been a huge fan of Masvidal ever since. Aside from my children's births and my wedding day, Masvidal's flying knee on Askren was the greatest day of my life, lol. Thanks for everything Uncle Chael!

I was a fan since he tko'd Kimbo's "protege" in a street fight, twice.

We all loved Masvidal because of Kimbo's fights, and we've always wanted an excuse to put him over. He came home from that game show he was on with a new mindset and made it easy for us.

After the Resurrection it was on for Masvidal, finally got the credit he deserved and switched up his approach in the octagon. If he can keep up his grappling takedown defense and use his striking like how he did against Till, Askren & Diaz; I think he can knock tf out of Covington.

I didn't know of Masvidal a few years back....Now I do and realized he was smart and fkn tuff! He's a class act.

I was fan of his since strike force. I watched his old backyard scraps but never put together that it was him, but even after everything the people who say “he’s changed” haven’t been watching from back then. It’s literally the exact same guy it’s just now the cameras are focused on him.

I hated Masvidal when he kneed and taunted Askren . I wasn’t impressed with his three piece and a soda sucker punch either. I started liking him after listening to a few of his interviews. He’s a smart guy and I enjoy hearing him speak on topics unrelated to fighting. He shows as much courage outside the octagon as he does in it.

Fun background. A big part of this story though is he went on a realty tv show. He had time away from everything and came to some conclusions about himself and how he wanted to finish his career. He realized why am I not going for finishes rather than these close decision losses. That was the spark that started his transformation. His words. Now before, slightly, there was a three piece and a soda and before there was the flying knee sucker punch of the ages, he knocked out cold Darren Till, then three piece and a soda which he won then the flying knee of all time then Nate which was not a close fight. Leon who got stunned by Nate in the last round and almost lost eked out a decision. Jorge blew him out. This version of Masvidal is dangerous. Don't let that last fight fool you. Colby is going to be swimming with a shark.

I remember watching Masvidal in his backyard fights Kimbo slice days. He was like 17 years old fighting this 30 year old. Masvidal f*cked up this grown man. Dropped him like 3 times. The kid was legit. Everyone was saying this kid is going to be special.

I think you should start adding video clips/inserts when you’re talking about a specific topic. Sometimes you’re talking about a certain event that occurred and it would be nice for the viewers to understand your message more in-depth. Say you’re talking about an interview, show us a clip or a moment of that interview then resume to the message you’re trying to convey. Thank you!

Masvidal going from nothing to something and handling it perfectly. He got subbed by Toby Imada for sun of the year and in an interview stated he was going to get “face breaker of the year” or something along those lines. It took him a decade, but man he’s done it.

He became a star after Dana said he could be a star if he would pull the trigger more instead of leaving it to the judges. During the survival reality show he was on, he had time to think. His first fight after that, he was visibly fighting with a different mindset... he took Dana's advice and ran with it, becoming mainstream known and a mainstream star.
