The time to charge a battery depends on the depth of discharge, the capacity of the battery in Ampere-Hours and the Charging Current of the charger to be used.
For example, if a fully discharged 45Ah battery is to be charged with a 15A charger, it will take TIME = 45Ah / 15A = 3 HOURS.
This can be applied to any battery, be it a cell phone, car, motor or any other electrical device with batteries.
In the case of a Cell Phone or Smart Phone with a 4000 mAh battery (ie 4Ah) that is charged with a 2000mA (2A) charger, it will take just 2 HOURS for its full charge, if the charger is 1000mA (1A) then it will take 4 HOURS.
