How Many More New Fighting Games are We Getting? | MK1(?) and UNI 2(!???) 

I'm glad there's a fighting game coming up for pretty much everyone. I just hope they don't come out too close to each other.

UNIST is one of my favorite fighting games and I've literally never played against another human being. Just doing training mode combos and messing around in that game is incredible. A new game with good netcode is a dream.

I really hope the uni 2 leak is real and it has rollback I would legitimately pick it up

I've always loved the mix of classical music that they use in UNI, stuff like naming the characters after composers, and sampling different songs in their character themes. I'm incredibly hyped for anything they put out. Just hoping Gordeau and Linne are both there and not too different 🤞

Everyone talks about how Granblue got screwed by the pandemic. But I feel like UNI got it pretty bad as well. There was a big community push, it was getting noticed. And it got chosen as a main-stage Evo game. And then, well. Everything fell apart for evo (Pandemic + the other drama) so UNI and its community got lost in the shuffle. Which sucks. Extra eyeballs on Evo main stage might have been able to push it further. Ah well. Solid developer/game/community. Hope the new game does well for them.

I hope UNI2 pops off with rollback so more people can experience it! Some players in my local scene have been trying UNICLR out and loving it and this news is really coming to them at the perfect time. Our competitive scene could also benefit a LOT from better netplay conditions. Seeing the glowup of BBCF play after their rollback patch has been pretty inspiring and I want the same for our scene.

It’s the second fighting game Golden Age, you can even play most of the retro classics with rollback.

I’m so hyped for MK12. MK11 is the fighting game that I have played the most. I love MK11 and I can’t wait for 12.

Here's to hoping Uni 2 is actually a thing. I've spent so much time in Training Mode just practicing combos and set ups and it was a lot of fun. If the sequel ever comes out, I can't wait to play some Yuzuriha again

Mortal Kombat: It's About Time That should be the title, like Crash Bandicoot before it.... It's a riff on the phrase, a pun on the games status and a tongue in cheek reference to where 11 left off and had started!

My first memory about sitting down and playing UNI is that everything just... clicks, almost immediately. Things work the way you want them to work, and then it can get even more crazy if you put some time into it. My boy Merkava is probably in the top 5 of characters I ever played, and I can't wait to give ole space chicken another try when he's back. And yes, the music slaps hard and everyone should talk more about it. Man, how am I supposed to play SF6, Granblue and UNI at the same time?..

Stupidly enough, my favourite thing about these teases is that if its true, a japanese anime fighter finally bothered to just have the number 2 in the sequels title, like, they finally just did it, make it obvious which ones the 2nd one. After a decade of Arc and MB playing random bullshit with the names, feels like a revalation.

Uni is my favorite fighting game straight up. The modern netcode is all it's missing imo. I can only hope whatever changes they make in the sequel are fun and interesting.

UNICLR is a game I have the most love/hate relationship ever. I love all the designs, I love how the execution feels, I love the music - but holy fuck I felt like every matchup was an uphill battle and half the cast was brutal to play against. There are so many *not fun* characters in that game when it comes to learning the matchups, how GRD works, and how the weird guard barrier system works in terms of creating frame+ situations to punish certain moves. I cannot tell if I regret the hundreds of hours I played it or not.

Even though I gave SF6 a chance or two with the beta and demo, I'm still not super excited for SF6, so I'm excited and relieved to see new MK/Uni games on the horizon. I love MK games with all my heart, and I've always been meaning to get into UNI since I love melty blood AA. Even if SF6 is the big seller this year, I'm glad there are alternatives too :)

UNIST was the first game i felt like i gave my all and got results back. Made it out of pools for the first time and tied for 9th at the same tournament at Michigan Masters then made it out of pools again at Combo Breaker that same year. UNI is really great but i couldnt recommend anyone to play it in earnest when so many other games had such great netcode and UNIST/CLR were so rough in the netplay department :/

As a non-NRS player, I'm looking forward to MK simply because I want some jank animations to add to my comedy routine.

UNI would be one of my main games if it had rollback, but everything else about it is so great. I live in central america and play on pc so I almost never can get a game online, but when I do I really enjoy it. My first ever victory in the online mode of any fighting game was actually in UNI. So I'm excited about this, but I would just prefer rollback for the current game instead of a brand new game, since I'm worried about the new game not featuring the iconic guest characters from the previous game and I'm worried about the game not being as good. After all, I really dislike how many new games have a focus on simplicity, which results in removing cool stuff.

I think people are kind of jumping the gun here for "UNI 2". While this is a better sign than nothing, stuff getting rated in Korea doesn't mean it's necessarily going to happen for whatever reason. Heck, I'm still waiting on a couple of these ratings leaks from years ago. Like a console release for "AH3 Six Stars"...which is funnily now outdated since there's been a newer version, "AH3 Xtend", out for a few years now also. Might even be another one from recent news. But yeah, an "UNI 2 would be nice. "UNI" itself was kind of left off in an odd spot after the "clr" update ended up being so mixed. The FB devs did say they wanted to make another entry but it's been all dark since. If it's true, hopefully I manage to actually get into it properly this time.

Uni 2 would be amazing, I hope it doesn't get the MB treatment where they neuter the game. The UNIST is near perfect and just needs a bit of a visual update with rollback and a fair price tag and crossplay.

I kinda feel like there are too many new FGs. I for sure don’t have capacity to play them all to the degree I’d want. I know “you don’t have to play all of them”… but I want to. If I know Tekken 8 and SF6 and MK12 would be on sale within the first year, I’d wait for a year, but if it will be a couple years before a sale, then I might as well get them on launch.

If we get anything else it's going to screw over another game. MK1 coming out in September gives SF6 3 months to breathe and Tekken 8 isn't until late 2023/early 2024. But any other smaller fighting game releasing near these games is setting themselves out to die

I don't know... I'll probably get MK12, but I'm honestly pretty annoyed with it being another reset. I really liked MKX, and it all getting erased from time kind of annoys me. Kind of like when Terminator Something or Other made it so Terminator 2 never happened.

I'll miss Sion if she's not in the sequel, but if they change/axe Phonon, I'll just die. Also, yeah just give us a Fate game. You got a million characters to choose from, even if you ignore the ones introduced in Grand Order.
