I always loved cybertron, the series that give everyone love and heavy weapons/designs imo especially for landmine-scattershot,scattershot was the best part of cybertron tbh
They all have weapons that are rare for transformers, like legit it feels like most transformers don’t have built in weaponry built into their toys which helps make Japanese transformers stand out because they aren’t afraid to do that like built in missile launchers and Gatling guns able to use them in both modes
God I miss flip out weaponry. That has been one of my biggest pet peeves with newer toys. I don't care how cartoon accurate or detailed their handguns are. I want to have fun with panels that fold back and show some hidden built-in weapons. The only one I can think of that have this gimmick in recent memory are Kingdom Primal.
I wish toys were more… toy-y Nowadays they’re still fun, they look great on a shelf but like I want ones that are fun to play with too Like I recently got Gigawatt and SG Megatron and they’re great display pieces but they’re not good toys?? Something like TR Sixshot and BW Optimus Primal is much more my speed
Me too. I also deeply miss when the figures were very complex, especially the movie figures. I remember, ROTF Leader Class Optimus Prime was a pain in the central processing unit to transform.
@@matoran_mal7680 Well, it kinda depends on your preferences. Most figures such as Siege Nemesis Prime or Earthrise Wheeljack feel straightforward, and sometimes they can be classified as “simple”, especially the Deluxe and some of the Voyager class figures. However, some figures such as Siege Arcee, Elita-1, and Studio Series Jolt are a huge pain to transform, especially when it comes to getting things lined up going into vehicle mode. I personally enjoy each figure equally, but as I said, it really is a matter of what your preferences are.
This is one of the cooler molds from Cybertron... but in all honesty I prefer Overload and Dropshot's more military color schemes over Scattorshot's deep blues. And he has RATCHET JOINTS meaning he can actually HOLD UP those huge weapon pods.
Holy grail figure for me, except I’m planning to buy the decepticon repaint, Dropshot. Easier to find on ebay and I kinda like the colors a little more.
That's why it looked odd to me. I had the Dropshot version 10 years ago. I even thought that I remember it being a Decepticon not an Autobot. 100% a must experience mold for any TF collector.
This is a great figure. When I saw Thew's Dropshot review, I had to have a version of the mould, so I got this one. Then I figured he needed to be a Decepticon, so I slapped some ToyHax Decepticon labels on him, and now he's a "G1-Style HFTD Hailstorm." Because I hate those Bayverse rock-candy-goblin designs.
In ask vector prime, it was stated that this is armada overload's og form and that he took on this appearance again after the end of the war to search for answers to the mystery of his origin
The Cybertron toy line was pretty good. A few questionable design choices like Crumplezone’s tiny legs. The Cybertron Defense Team was super good. Though Hotshot becoming an armored vehicle was strange for a fast car character. I think that’s why they retooled Siege Hound to be him.
That retool is in my opinion one of the least interesting tales on the design of hotshot I’ve ever seen… probably due to a distaste for G1 I’ve gained over the years
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer they also won’t make him yellow anymore likely because of Bumblebee. He’s keeping his Cybertron colors or he’s red. But I like blue so idc that much. I do think his first vehicle mode in Cybertron was superior and was just G1 Hot Rod. You look at it, paint it red and it’s Hot Rod.
@@cobaltprime9467 I’m okay with that, I grew up on cybertron first so the metallic blue silver with some yellow is what I prefer. I hope that the transformation returns, that kind and it’s variants was a staple for Takara all over the 90’s so it was sort of an homage to those
I've got the Dropshot version of this figure, and you're so right, it's awesome! Surprised you didn't comment on the goggles and how easy it is to confuse them with the proper optical sensor bar on his face, lol! Still confuses me by times years after buying it!
3:33 OH GOD TALK DIRTY TO ME.......also I like this figure but, I wish you could remove the missile racks? I don't thinks that would've been to big an ask back then
I think in modern transformers the least they could do is have missile launchers like on the new Blitzwing they did those big hands but they're just lame
let's think of this toy gimmick as at actual feature for the series's character image u face this robot u would be afraid because he's armed with 2 rocket launchers that holds 12 rocket each but instead it's just there for the looks and his real weapon and awkward rifle and 2 rocket.
Dropshot is my favourite out of the Scattershot repaints, he's a Decepticon the way it should be. Also, something you left out is due to transformation he has reverse butterfly joints, which help get him into some pretty solid firing missile spam poses.
Thank you, oh arbiter of what should or shouldn't be a Decepticon. Nevermind that this is based on an _Autobot_ character called Flak. I guess Warpath needs to change his allegiance, right? Sandstorm? Broadside? 4/5 aerialbots? Hell, Air Raid has the exact same vehicle mode as the Seekers, so which one of them is the wrong faction?
