I can’t wait for skids and mudflap to get executed by transit in Transformers: Unicron goes to Starbucks 2099

DOTM Mudflap was my childhood holy grail. I was falling behind in school and my reading teach told me hed buy a transformer if I improved my grades, It might not not be a good toy but it meant more to me then anything else at the time.

For years I thought that the mudflap arm poping off problem was a thing of my copy. Glad to know there's a fix for that.

Despite all the controversy surounding them i still have hopes we'll get them in SS eventually. As a kid i genuinelly loved them- mainly due to the fact they actually had screentime as opposed to most other bayformers, but i did love them nonetheless. Especially Mudflap in ROTF, i really love his altmode, and his bot mode design is much better than Skids' in my opinion. And i do love their icecream truck appearance

I can easily say that as someone who had mudflap, That toy was extremely fiddly

The human alliance of the rotf designs are the closest we’ll get to mpm figures of these guys, and mudflap is apparently super rare/expensive too

I honestly think that the skids and mudflap toys are pretty good for what they are trying to replicate

Actually, if you look at reviews and pictures from the time. The "Yellowing" on Mudflap isn't actually yellowing, it's just the color of the plastic they chose for some reason

despite what people said in a poll, Bay completely disagreed and had them killed off in the dark of the moon prequel story where shockwave attacked and killed off a good deal of the autobots including arcee and her sisters or clones whatever you want to call them and skids and mudflap were among them as well. Bay said their dialouge in Revenge was very off the wall racist and apparently even paramount and spielberg were on that same page. them being in dark of the moon was a mistake bay said was too late to correct after things were already done.

The funny thing was, when the human alliance toys were released, their versions were very highly sought after.

I feel like Skids and Mudflap would have been not hated as much in DOTM if they were kept, but I agree with them being removed from the film. Not being allowed to have studio series is ridiculous because all they need to do is bite the bullet, but they are unwilling to. For good reason, but I just wish they would.

Shame that Skids and Mudflap were removed from Dark of the Moon. These new color schemes look awesome as hell.

I got these figures for two reasons 1: because I lost the original ROTF versions 2: my mom actually likes the Twins and begged me to add them to my collection

I remember owning both of these at one point, and they aren't great I remember my skids right arm would always fall off the ball joint and as for mudflap the I hated the transformation, but I will always treasure the dark of the moon toyline as my favorite toy line even if they had some flops in the line

I remember I was at the store ready to buy a transformer, and I saw Skid’s head in the window and somehow that was an ultimate deciding factor to get Mechtech Ratchet. It was probably a good thing I picked Ratchet though

If someone made new heads for these, I could pretend they're entirely new characters... But no one has, and i can't, so that sucks Also, incorrect- Crankcase is the best Legacy Skids anything

I actually keep my Dotm skids feet untransformed and backwards so they can properly bend and just dont look clownish, and never bothered to get a DOTM mudflap because the Tuner mudflap is honesty the perfect one i need. I cannot imagine how much copium people are dosing, but im so in love with Skids and Mudflap UPDATE: I just got Dotm Mudflap and I love how goofy he is

I got rid of my ROTF skids and mudflap because I hated those characters so much. Now they are the only ones from the movies I don’t have and I need everyone. The toys weren’t that bad and now I’m gonna have to try and get them again.

As an old f*rt, who grew up with G1 Transformers and the Cartoon, etc, etc, etc... I mostly forgave Michael Bay for the first TF Movie, because it was the first time we'd ever seen those beloved little robots in live-action, even if they weren't modelled correctly, and the alt modes and transformations were all wrong, but ROTF, DOTM and TLK were just like, WTF dude!?! All I can say is, thank GOD for THAT Cybertron scene in Bumblebee and Unicron in Rise of the Beasts!

i have the rotf mudflap and i actually really like that figure. the alt mode is ON POINT, nice and intricate transformation, and it results in an accurate enough robot mode!

i own these there really not that bad the head sculpt is nice and the car modes are pretty smooth and its simple to transform i like it

I think they are pretty good and cute! The colour scheme is matching the dark theme. I put them together with the black bumblebee in my shelf. Orange/Yellow/Green

I have a lot of nostalgia for the dotm mudflap toy because it was one of my first transformers I ever got and I lost him somewhere at sometime when I was to young to remember anything and for the sake of nostalgia I look on eBay for him every now and again and I want your advice on if i should get it

That Mudflap was my very first Transformers figure, and as I said on the other Skids and Mudflap video; Nothing will stop me from reuniting with my boy Mudflap!! The possible yellowing will be an issue...

Weirdly Skids and Mudflap almost have G1 proportioned designs. Intentionally or not they're the closest to G1 styled designs in the Bayverse.

Funny enough, 2 days ago my dad walks in and we randomly brought up these 2 in a conversation. He then asked why tf these lads weren't in the 3rd movie. I regret telling him as I think it ruined his day... Anyways yea that ain't yellowing plastic, it's just the way it is.

I used to have that Skids, but one day I got angry and threw it on the floor, so my parents came and threw it in the garbage

I have the mudflaps that the arms pop off, they simply put the mushrooms pegs on the outside so when you lift them up you also lift the pegs. I hate that so much.

Fun fact, mudflap isn’t yellowing. That’s just how the plastic was when they came out. I had them when they came out and mudflaps biceps are just different colors for no reason.

I owned mudflap years ago, he was missing his doors and the hood of the car though as I got him used, and honestly I really loved him. He was weird and ugly but I enjoyed that about him. I don't know the asymmetry just appeals to me I guess? Again, I don't know, I just really like how he looks.

In the comic adaptation, these goons were killed off by Sentinel. OH HOW I WISH THAT MADE THE FILM. I could watch that on loop, watching them rust away. Instead of Ironhide.

Whether or not something is racist really isn't the kind of thing that should ever be decided by majority vote. It'll eventually just end up being decided by whether or not the majority happens to like that particular thing.

I never really thought of those two racist, hell! even my mom liked those characters. I use to own the ROTF mudflap but it was starting to get loose and broken qwq I am a hardcore transformer fan, love the design. I just didn't like they focus more on the human than the actual transformers. ROFB did amazing.

I got DotM Mudflap at some point for some reason I don't remember why, and I genuinely kinda hate the figure. It's just a mess. Car mode is genuinely pretty good once you get it all stuck together, but the transformation and robot mode just suck so much.

Not a transformer comment BUT I thought you said it was hard to pull back the spring on the nerf gun. Go pick up a nerf rival blaster. The Optimus blaster is the rookie numbers of strength. Nerf rival fires rounds up to 90-100 fps. Muzzle velocity not constantly cause that would be scary.

I will continue to recommend reading the IDW movie stuff with the movie adaptations. That also follows the book that you guy mentioned. Skids and mudflap are just idiots in the background. Still in the scenes they’re meant for, but but no racial overtones. As always great video my man.

For those who haven’t watched Theorymus’s video, these two weren’t intended to be stereotypical depictions of black americans, but rather meant to be just some wannabes or “posers”

I hate they took a really cool character (G1 Skids) and remade him into a complete nightmare, with horrible looks and a completely different personality. That's not even Skids, that's his nightmare, hunchback stalker who stole his name and wants to replace him.
