How Many Times Can WWE Fans Hear the Same John Cena Promo? 

CENA PROMO LOGIC: 1. Cut unfunny jokes 2. Fend off boo's by mentioning local sports team 3. Insults himself 4. Mention over babyface to garner cheers 5. Keeps switching between taking opponent seriously and cutting jokes about them 6. Implies he will never turn heel, and loves the business more than anyone else 7. Claims he's the face that runs the place, aka your ass will get buried at the PPV

CENA PROMO SUMMARY 1- summary of the feud 2-cracks corny jokes 3-talks about how he does it for the kids and people 4-mention a home town sports team or the home town itself 5-mention a over baby face to get a pop 6-starts screaming and ''defending'' the boo's 7-how he is the face of the company and you gotta beat him aka golden shovel time moral of the story if your a up & comer you want no part of cena or you'll end up on the buried list (which is the wwe roster)

Cena has no character or gimmick really, that's the problem with this. They book the WWE as a weekly episodic TV drama, and John Cena is it's designated protagonist. He can't go heel because he's the main character of a very simple superhero-story. So it's just John Cena, the protagonist, against the villain of the season, say Bray Wyatt, who he fights a couple months, wins, poses in the end, and next RAW he comes out and cuts the reset-to-norm -promo where he talks about nothing for 5minutes until someone's theme song hits to start up a new angle. You can look at crap like his Ryback feud last year, after the last PPV confrontation, he comes out, talks about NOTHING, and Mark Henry's theme hits to start a feud with John. It's a ridiculously stale pattern, and it baffles me how wrestling of all things has degenerated into this. There's no progression because all of this just follows the same mold for years now.

The only reason San Antonio cheered for Cena was because they used the Spurs in their promo and San Antonio loves their Spurs, they celebrated downtown every win Spurs got over the Heat in the Finals and John Cena congratulate the Spurs plus it was the night before the season opener, so of course they were going to cheer for Cena

The only way Cena will ever go over with the fans if have one heel turn. I'm not saying turn him heel for ever but turn him heel for a year then have him turn on the top heel saving a big baby face. When Hulk Hogan had been champion and top man for a number of years, you got the feeling he was trying to be pushed to the side by McMahon because he just didn't like any one guy who is bigger than the company, who he needs and not the other way around. So he gave the title to warrior hoping to push hogan out of the way for warrior to be the man for a good few years then afterwards warrior wasn't living up to McMahon's expectations, he did the same with savage, bringing in ric flair etc but hogan was still the man, still the draw, hulkamania just wouldn't go away! But with cena you get the feeling it's the other way around! Not many guys are being given the chance by vince to be in the cena slot, the fans in majority don't want him anymore, if some ever did! Despite all that, not only not trying to push cena to the side, they are doing everything they possibly can to try and keep him there! There is nothing special or unique about him, he's like a former boy band member or one of those "bad boy" type fake boybands who do a bit of rap so that makes them"bad" with an out of touch, behind the times but because the person "mcmahon" is 15 20 years out, he gives this gimmick of the bad boy who is really not bad boy/rap band with a generic good looks and body that's not hugely muscular but not skinny either, its like the generic bodies of the old wrestling figures I had as a kid with same body and height but with different wrestlers head, (they are probably more accurate today. I don't know)who wears a baseball cap and matching t-shirts with slogans on them, and that's his idea of what's "cool" with young people today lol. He really really gives off the feeling of he is an actor who is playing the role of a wrestler whoops! "Sorry Vince I meant sports entertainer if you are reading this, but I doubt it because you don't care what the fans think) I'm baffled if anyone over 11/12yo or perhaps 14/15 if female actually seriously considers them self a fan of this insult to the history of the business

The problem is .. WWE got to the point where creative team, Triple H , etc.. micro-manages every single, little detail of everything. That's why every wrestler is the same now.. no gimmicks, etc. *edit* - Randy Orton won't join Cena, he's going to make a return.. RKO Seth Rollins, and team Cena will win. Orton and Rollins will fight at the next ppv. (This is the most predictable scenario, which is why they shouldn't do it.)

can the years roll by quicker so that we could actually see what would happen in the future where i hope that Cena just retire already... he has achieved EVERYTHING that is to achieve in WWE... if Hollywood comes calling, good... take him away(and hopefully the hollywood writers that WWE hired too). coz i really wanna see how bright the future will be without Cena and just let the up-n-coming stars in NXT and in the main roster shine.... and yeah, hurts me to say this, but, release the deadweights in the roster and let them shine in other promotions, it kinda sickens me to see superstars getting push mainly for their mic skills in the WWE.. i mean, don't the other skills need to be shown widely too? i just hope Roman Reigns won't be another "superman" like Cena coz he really does have something going in with his looks and i hope he brushen up his in-ring skills and if needed, let him talk unscriptedly for abit.. he sure can talk normally during interviews without any scripts holding him back that made him sounds like a robot when he talks.. yeah, that's just my opinion... and yeah NXT is kinda the only main thing that makes me feel that the future is bright...

They've done this shit with John Cena since 2011-12 for sure with Kane and maybe a few times before that. It's always the same crap with this guy. He spends 99% of each promo trying to get the fans to cheer him and the rest of the time looking like an idiot standing there in those ridiculous outfits. In 2014 alone they've done this shit twice before with Wyatt and then Heyman. Enough already.
