I think he will be in f1 in 2-3 years and depending on what team he goes to then i could see a championship in a 10 year window from now.

very very unlikely to happen how many people make it into f1 and become champs and ferrari wont take him for his name he could end up in a midfield team but there are much better drivers that cant get seats like pascal. but who knows im sure the lad has got that big schumacher money behind him that will help

Firstly he should proves his skills in GP2. If he can win the GP2 Championship, he could think about an F1 cockpit. If not he is just talented driver with a famous name.

@@MRacer001 iirc he was over taking several cars under sc conditions and he ended up hitting someone off. He received a suspended 2 year ban from the sport. He came back after one year under the terms that he is kinda on a probation period for the remainder of the ban

If you look at the teams that have tried to join the sport, it's usually a financial reason as to why they fail (they end up bankrupt/ in administration). F1 is one of the most expensive motorsport series to run in, that's partly why pay drivers get seats, because to the team the money is more important than the skill. The skilled drivers MAY improve the team's constructors position (giving the team more money at the end of the season) but a pay driver will guarantee you money. I actually agree with most of what you've stated, it's just that from a team's prospective getting into F1 is a heavy investment and using pay drivers softens that financial blow somewhat.

@@Ewane their used to be 28 then it went down to 24 now it's at 20. 4 new teams could be possible if the 2021 regs come out and have significant changes then. We could suddenly get many teams interested. Way back in the day their were teams trying to join every season. On the cost front it doesn't help that ferrari get 70m for just showing up

Give Stroll some credit, he's proven himself in junior formulae. So what if he is rich? It doesn't mean he can't be fast. I'll admit that Ocon is unfortunate to have his promising career be threatened, but plenty of decent drivers without funding have gotten axed, e.g Kobayashi, and no one really loses any sleep over it. The reason why manufacturers aren't keen on entering F1 now is because it simply isn't cost effective to do so. Especially after witnessing Honda's struggles when it entered in 2015, manufacturers aren't keen on investing millions of euros/pounds/dollars/yen and getting egg on their face when the project flops in its first year.
