If you buy a vehicle that MUST HAVE ADblue added to it, just get on with it, as the cost of repairs for NOT adding ADblue will FAR outstrip the few pennies per day that this vital product costs. While filling the ADblue, dont forget to add the small bottle of Wynns ANTIcrystalisation Fluid, this product prevents the build up of crystals in the ADblue clogging up the system sensor, IF not used, the cost to replace the ADblue system components will cost over £600, but, before that the engine will revert to LIMP MODE. A small cost to get a clean & efficient engine.

Very useful, thanks. At 2022 adblue costs around £20 for 10ltr on ebay with free postage. I just looked at my car spec ' a Citroen 2ltr hdi ' and was shocked the adblue tank is 17ltr, so a 1.5 ltr top up at £9 is Wow! - a mega rip off. Using ebay prices adblue adds around 2-3% to the cost of fuel for my car. Against this is the fact that I now get 500+ miles per tankful, and my previous 2ltr-i petrol car did less than 200 with less hp. For me diesel is by far the more cost effective option.

Jezzz Around 13L liters of adblue can last around 15000km so you will only refill maybe once a year! So how cAn that be expensive??

I’ve had my Audi A4 2.0 Ultra since April and covered 11,500 miles. The display has come up saying I have 2000 miles of adblue left. I’ve never filed the tank up yet. Added bonus of not having to pay road tax.

Have you tried pissing in your add blue tank ? I do it & The engine light isn’t on yet

I viewed an E class bluetec yesterday and asked about Adblue as I'd never seen it. The sales person just mentioned it was to lower emissions, never mentioned how expensive they were. I'm glad I researched into this afterwards, think I'll be looking for another car.
