Sorry tronco, but as much as the centralita can ajust the AFR on a petrol engine via information received from the inlet and exhaust sensors, the centralita on a Diesel engine does the same via its sensors. If it was a pegaso from 1950, I’d agree with you, but a modern Diesel engine can change its AFR the same as a petrol engine. What you said about the way it reduces the emissions is correct, and assists in lower emissions. I just refilled my adblue (2021 Hyundai Santa Fe) after getting a low level warning (+\- quarter tank) after 26,000 which was just over a year of ownership. A 10l can (with spout included) cost €17, and I still had some left over for next year.

It's absolutely ridiculous what manufactures are forced to do with cars now. Luckily my diesel car is from 2012 so I haven't got to fanny around with AdBlue.
