pro tip for anyone dealing with the "issue" solved by the books, a better way to deal with it is by flexing your leg muscles repeatedly as you sit still. The blood from the mechanical pencil will be reallocated to the legs

What was popular when I was in middle school was....... erasers that looked like mini fruits, mini animals etc. Most school supplies looked like very colorful common things like a pencil that looked like tooth brush and the bristle part was the eraser.

How many remember getting some school supplies once it was the week of the Scholastic book fair? From the cute erasers, book marks, the stretchy elastic book covers, etc. At one time we had some type of keychain looking thing that went just under the pencil erasers. Basically, it was to look neat, a cute assessory item, but kids would just play with it

Book fair was my favorite. One year I got a planner called "Plan it" (or Planet, idk this is 15 years ago) and it was filled with stickers and fun facts, pages to draw on, quizzes, and spots to write in things about yourself. I miss that thing.

Fellow educator here! At our school, the 5th grade students are trained at the beginning of the year and are in charge of the raising the flag each morning and folding it correctly each afternoon.

When I was in third grade the class received pencils that said “it’s not cool to do drugs”. They were all taken away after a few days because as the pencils were used they eventually said “cool to do drugs”. Some pencils became more demanding, “do drugs”

As an illustrator, we're the kind of nerds that have those expensive mechanical pencils. Mine was a lot cheaper then, than what it is now, but as an essential tool of the trade, my mechanical pencil is now worth around 40 bucks too. Japanese Stationery, so good and well-made I still fawn about it.

I LOVE pens and pencils. One of my favorite pens has a plastic nib and it writes like a fountain pen. My favorite pencils are for drawing and I think you guys did a segment on some. I am an artist and love paint pens, paints and brushes of course.

My school didn't allow the wheeled backpacks. I assume because they were too tempting to push in front of you and mow people down with them. Lol

Saaaame! They let us for a while but there was always that one kid that wheeled alittle to aggressively 😄☠ that kid probably is a ROAD RAGER nowadays 🤔🙄😳

Oh god. My mom was vehemently against roller backpacks, and thank goodness I never got one because my elementary school was like 90% stairs. Some kids struggled to pull their heavy roller backpacks up the stairs. You were also a cool kid if you had like, not just lunchboxes with cartoon characters and superheros on them, but lunch bags with so many pockets and hidden compartments to hold extra snacks and a beverage. I was obsessed with those!
