The Scary part is asking a lawyer questions about billing prior to retaining said lawyer is going to give the lawyer the “you’re going to be hard to deal with” idea. They want easy money with the least work with a complaint sheep that’s entrusting them 100%. You’ll be sorry when the lawyer gets mad in the midst of your retainment when you encounter problems from asking questions about this $500+ an hour lawyer. I seen lawyers dump people on the spot over money issues and seeing a new desperate client with money sure overrides your predicament. Tread carefully when retaining a lawyer.

This was so wrong let me lay it out you don’t need to answer anything or give any ID u are only required to take the breath test and All checkpoints must be within 200m of public view and they must be a turn off road that gives drivers the option to take a detour for emergency vehicles and safety reasons, the cops can’t get ur ID at a checkpoint bc you wouldn’t be suspected of committing a crime simply pulling up and getting stopped at the checkpoint is not grounds you’ve committed a crime it’s not a stop and ID state don’t answer questions take the breath test n be on your way

A DUI lawyer costs nothing if you don't drink and drive; there is no excuse for driving inebriated, and the deaths and injury is causes.

This is off topic ... but I can't find any other Canadian site to ask. FYI, I'm in Halifax, Nova Scotia. If I get stopped by a " corrupt " cop, I was told that I just can't win, I'm screwed if I piss this type of cop off ...but my data might be incorrect so here goes: Let's say I get pulled over....cop demands a SRST, and he says I failed it...even if he gives me a roadside breath test, which shows zero's, he still tells me he believes I'm under the influence of something. Now, I am arrested, car is towed to police pound, I'm taken to the station where I am given the breath test again, on the " main " machine which shows all zero's. Now, I am taken into another room where the DRE Officer sits down and questions me for drug use, takes my pulse, another SRST, blood is taken, more questions are asked and THEN and only then does the DRE Officer state that I am NOT under the influence of any drugs or alcohol...and now I am told I can leave....HERE is where I cannot find the proper answers to these next questions ... it's different everywhere's I look. I am told that EVEN though I walked out of the Police Station, I STILL have a DUI CHARGE on my record now, not a conviction, but a DUI charge ...which is something that can get me fired from my job, because I have to keep a clean criminal record because I have a high security clearance to be allowed to enter the NAVY dockyards to perform my duties, I'm not allowed near the ships with ordinance onboard unless I have a class 1 badge on my chest ... having a DUI on my record removes that badge, which means...fired. The other question that I can't find an answer to is ... even though I walked out of the station, but still charged ... how long do the cops keep my car? ... 7 days? ... I know that the tow trucks charge me triple what a normal tow is, and it's over 100 a day to have your car impounded, so by the time I got my car back ... COULD it be 7 days and over $1000.00? I have searched high and low for these 2 answers ever since I read that I can be charged on the spot but later let go, but still have that charge follow me. Any input on these 2 questions would be a great help ....this is why even though I have about 10,000 hours of self taught police training, if this is true, then I can't say things like " I'm not telling you where I am going, or where I came from, or how long I've been there," ... without being charged by a "corrupt", "pissed off" cop.
