My greyhound's dental care consisted of a yearly professional clean by the vet and a daily green dental chew. Her teeth and gums always looked healthy and she never had bad breath. I bought the dental chews from Costco.

Oh my! My greyhound us so spoiled. He has 19 toys, 7 kinds of treats, goes to the vet and groomer, eats expensive Royal Canin kibble, chicken, turkey and assorted veggies with rice, has a crate and two beds, pillows and is on his fourth jacket already. I purchased him from a racing kennel for 600 euro. Other costs already incurred are over 900 euro in four months. Call me crazy, but I love this sweet boy!

I fell in love at first sight with my little girl! We bonded well- so well mannered and smart she new the boundaries of the properties and was the Princess of the neighboorhood

And considering that an ex-racer rescue is neutered, vetted, vaccinated, and they tell you about the health stuff and temperment, it's really reasonable as price of dogs go.

I truly believe, The Greyhound was God's gift to Mankind.

I've been binge watching your videos all day! I've been obsessed with the Greyhound breed for the past 2-ish years now, and I have my heart set on getting one in the future. I know I specifically want a boy, but crazy enough, I've never met a greyhound in person! I grew up with small dogs my entire life so it'll definitely be an adjustment having a big dog. I keep telling myself that I could always change my mind, but I love them so much so I hope that never happens. I'm currently a graduate student and on the path to becoming a therapist, so I'd also want my Grey trained as a therapy dog to incorporate into my future job. In Australia we adopted our grey for $75 - vaccinated/wormed/shots, desexed, microchipped. Came with collar, lead, blanket, coat. Food costs average $40 a week which is the only expense. Our vet charges $65 for a regular check up. We are connected with fb groups and experts on there.

My first Grey hadn't a real dog bed for a couple of months. I found a foldable traveling mattress in a second hand store and a 4 kg feather duvet for less then 15 euros. Perfect. Second dog has a real dog bed now, but is also using the old mattress and feather bed. I would always prefer human blankets and pillowcases, because they are easy to wash and every household has old sets.

I am totally on board with adopting a greyhound, but my wife is hesitant. She is concerned with how we would deal with a hound when I go back in the office after the pandemic scare, how do we make sure it will be well behaved, where to place a crate, how much time it will take to train. Any suggestions on how to make her more comfortable with an adoption would be appreciated. Really like your videos and your website.

Go thrifting. I have seen crates at thrift stores, and certainly there are a lot of blankets you can find.

I have gotten "senior", and "special needs" Greyhounds, for free.

I know how expensive flea and heartworm medication cost. I contacted a couple of Greyhound Adoption agencies. They're backed up with applications. One said three to six months and the other one is swamped with so many that they aren't taking any applications. They have an address for Dublin, Ohio, but she said that they were located in the center of Columbus, Ohio. She said that they didn't place any dogs out side of an hour radiance. It only takes me 40 minutes to drive to Dublin. My Chinese Crested isn't doing well. She has a degenerative disc disease, allergies to everything (which I knew about) , and an skin infection. She's 10 years old and I'm maintaining her health issues on medications. She doesn't always finish eating her food. I've got to go outside with her and pick up her feces, so she won't eat it. I have to carry her upstairs and sometimes help her on to the couch. She still gets out one of her toys when I move or someone comes through the front door. She greets them wagging her tail and "talking" with her toy in her mouth. Also, she still tells me when she has to go out. I've about given up on the idea of trying to adopt a retired racing Greyhound in this area. I wish that I could adopt from Florida or Texas. I have a preference for female dogs. All these adoption agencies want donations to cover the fees that you mentioned. I know that they have policies set up to place greyhonds in forever homes. Around here it's not easy to adopt. They're looking for foster homes.

Hello I’m going to be adopting a grey hound soon and I’m very nervous I also have an American bull dog she is quite large but I do wonder if I should get a female or male greyhound do you have any suggestions?
