Melissa, you're a great teacher. You explain your filing so well. It feels like most people can only show their process, but aren't very good at articulating WHY they're doing what they're doing, but it's easy to follow what you're saying. It's been very helpful for me! We appreciate you and your craft♥️♥️😁xoxo
That 2 step reverse method for the smile line was such a lightbulb moment!!! Thank you!!! I have been trying to do it in 1 from the cuticle and it’s so frustrating to get that strength and shape!!!! Man... those little tips you sneak in there are so invaluable!! That’s why you are the best at what you do!!!! As always, thanks for the amazing education!!! You’ve just saved me so much frustration!!! ♥️
I've seen Tracey do detailed sets in an hour 🤔🤔🤔 I might be on the wrong career path. It's totally worth all the experience, expertise, materials and time y'all have and give!
Not everyone can do it in an hour. As long as you are around 2 hours, you are honestly doing good! You will get faster from there eventually! It just simply matters that your nails stay on in your clients like them. And that you’re enjoying your job as well! 😉🤩💅🏻🤍✨
@@mjaydelacruz8496 *fangirling* Thank you so much for the encouragement! After re-reading it, I realized it might have sounded like I was doubting my own work but I was actually trying to do the math on how many clients you can help in a day and the amount of $$ you could make (even at 2hrs an appt!) and since I'm *not* a nail tech (for now) I was thinking I might be in the wrong career 😅 and need to switch to being a nail tech! Either way, I needed the encouragement because I just do my own nails at home but am still in the 4 hr range and sometimes get frustrated with myself even though I'm clearly getting better thanks to y'all's videos. You're all just amazing, thank you! 😊
I read it the way you intended...probably because I was thinking the same thing!😂 Been doing my own nails for a couple of years now and would love to change careers and know I could actually make money doing something I loved.💗
If you love doing nails, you should absolutely become a nail artist! Practice makes perfect. It takes A LOT of practice, because the truth is that 90% is the ability to sculpt a nail, and file it correctly. The nail art is really the easiest to learn and the supplies are inexpensive. Where to spend the money is on bonder, nail forms, e-file, and good gels or acrylic. Polygel is way easier to use than gel and acrylic, but you get what you pay for and have to buy high quality polygel. Good quality slip solution. Lamps are pretty inexpensive, but duel led and uv are good. Nail art supplies you should get from aliexpress because the quality is usually the same, just name brands hike prices. I got into nail art just a few years ago, it can take me 10 hours to sculpt and file a full set perfectly on myself, but there isn't any nail art technique I can't do pretty easily, for barely any money. If I was constantly practicing sculpting and filing I could do it faster, but I say that because the nail art is really the easiest to learn.
also I wish I could watch young nails videos all day but I would run out of product I always think run try this now lol ...also I think Melissas nails have a custom look it's kinda like when you see a certain directors film you know it's their film...when I see a nail I can just tell it's her wonderful work from the still image alone ! #thebeyonceofnails lol
I know it's not all that popular, but I would love to see short almond nails shaped so the free edge is not thick but the arch and the stress points are really secure. I am not a nail tech; I DIY and I'm getting good thanks to your tutorials and products. Yet, I don't think I've mastered arch and edge fundamentals on short nails. Thanks!
I am sorry, but using a detailed brush for applying glitter killed me. Those brushes are hard to come by. These are gems of brushes. Use the correct tools. It took me years to find a detailed brush, but when watching this I lost my sh it. 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺😱😱😭😭😭😭😂, it's cool as long as you're paying, take care of it
Lol. Ummmmm I always take care of my brushes! Using it for cosmetic grade glitter has not hurt it. I have been doing it for 3 years with my same micro detailer. It’s perfect still. I do agree, you should take care of your brushes!😉😊🙌🏼🤩💅🏻✨💖
So enjoyed watching .gosh remember back in 90/20s using pink builder if I used glitters as acrylic was that clear back in the day.. how as I it as file compared to the acrylic back then... it's nice to hear your voice, I've big fan for many years..have wonderful Day stay safe glittery hugs 🤗😍😘💜
Melissa thank you so much !! I’ve been collecting all kinds of YN products from sales to mystery boxes !! Watching videos learning so much your team n products ROCK SOLID Again thank you !!!!
I’m so glad I live in Wyoming new set of nails is $65.00 a rebase is $45.00. Any extra bling is $5.00. I don’t think we could afford nails at those prices. No matter how pretty they are.
There’s a Nails for everyone out there oh well. The cost of living in California and Las Vegas is higher than most places. People are going to pay more for their services in those places!
Wowowowowowowow so beautiful and the trick with the file to cut the sides and the curving corners where perfect for me. The whole nail looks crazy beautiful 😍
I absolutely love this look and I absolutely live Melissa. Thanks again for another wonderful video!👏🏾👏🏾💅🏾💅🏾♥️♥️♥️🔥🔥🔥🔥 I want to be like Melissa when I grow up.🥲🥲
None of the prices added up at the end I’m kind of confused or am I just crazy??? Full set= $155 Rebalance =$110 Edit: OKAY so it’s 40$ for the dimension and 10$ for the glitter aaahhh gotcha took me a minute
@@ella_cinder4361 I am an actual nail tech and those prices are right on target with what I charge obviously when you use good products and with your time being so valuable it’s worth it. If you go to just a random corner salon they’re all cheap because they do a crap job that is with garbage product on you most likely chipping and all that’s going to happen they don’t do a lot of encapsulation at salons anymore so I understand if you’re like a salon person how those prices seem out rages but for me that’s right on target
Yes absolutely makes perfect 👌🏻 you want bomb nails or cheap half the quality also you need to remember she is using the best products on the market they aren’t cheap. I spent $150 on my nails before and they were the most dynamic coolest nails I’ve ever had loved them. Know your budget what you want to spend and are you willing to go outside the norm because it will cost for a neat design like these !!
Mrs. Delacruz you are a surgeon with that e-file my gad. I was tense. True to form YN always raising the bar. I have to ask about your choice of bit. Why not the more tapered cone shaped bit?
I've got a question, please. Ive lost my nail, due to smashing the finger bout 9 months ago. The nail is coming back. My question is this: can I have my nails done in either acrylic or gel?
Hi! Enjoyed this video so much & was wondering what the color is on your personal nails? I watched a few of your videos cuz I immediately fell in love with the shape and color of your nails.
I’ve always done that client profile to make sure the tops are straight. Can’t even remember where I learned it from or if I just started doing it, but my clients thought it was strange at first, but they end up loving it!
These are beautiful! Can we please see you do a full set on your own nails in your signature shape or on Sally. I want to see how you build and shape them. I always find myself staring just as much at your nails.
I would love to see some tutorials with active length nails, very short nails with slight extension using gel and forms with beautiful unique designs like this one. 🙂
@@rhiannongreen3279 LOL! Tell me about it! I’d rather do them on a person! 😆😂 I could always count on the training hand being there LOL! Maybe one day soon I can work on someone on camera! 🤍💅🏻✨🤩🙏🏻
That's one thing that you see often in the Young Nails videos! One of the ones i watched a while ago said not to feel bad when the nails turn out bad, and not to spend forever trying to make them look perfect. Filing is always going to be necessary, so if you can get really great with that, your nail game will slay 💖
I have short nails that don't grow fast and short can u do a video about that . And also make some nails designs that are budget friendly but dope and 150 is a bit too steep
This career is awesome! The beauty of it if you’re working for yourself you could charge what you like. Just remember not to under charge yourself. It’s how you make your living!🙏🏻🤍💅🏻✨🤩
OMG , I just tried it and I LOVE IT!!!! I never really cared for gel, but now this opens a new word of design to me. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was beautiful. I used YN builder gel for the first time 2 weeks ago and loved my set...I can honestly say I don't need to look any further for builder gel...now I need to practice my acrylic application 🙄 wish me luck.
I absolutely adore both of you! Melissa you are so talented awesome and so thorough and a fantastic teacher! You also have an extremely soothing demeanour and voice! I found myself getting a little too relaxed watching this! And I am so glad you ladies did a how much video! I have missed these !
I just did the pretty same set for 15dls bc im student, i was so happy bc i did a really good job, now im kinda sad people dont value artist's time, so now on i'll charge 100 at least. What would i do without your honesty guys 😇🥰🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
Starting out, nail biters tend to do better. Acrylic can work like a "cast" to build and support a bitten or damaged nail. Once the damage has grown out and the nail bed has re-grown its structure, you can fill the acrylics with gel if you prefer to do so.
