A frequently asked question I get about my houseplant collection is: What is the most expensive plant I own? Well in this video I listed my top 13 most valuable plants. When & how I bought them and what they are worth now.
Plants can be a risky investment because most often they lose their value over time. Thankfully I don't buy them exclusively to make money off of them 😁.

Looove your Stephania! It looks like the perfect version of that plant 😍 Where are you getting your low terracotta planters? They're perfect. Also, I was able to find a giant Monstera Albo in garden center for 80€, I was shocked tbh! That's also the first and most expensive plant I own at the moment. I am scared for my future self 👀👀

Ohhh boy 80 € is a great deal 🎉, congrats on your find. It's funny how all plantparents go down this route somehow, once you start diving into more expensive plants it's gradually getting worse 😅. At least for me it was that way. I could justify buying a plant for 100 if I already bought one for 80 the month before. I am finding those shallow terracotta pots in garden centers like : Dehner & also in Hardware stores: Bauhaus, Hornbach etc. not sure how available those are to you. They only have them in one or two sizes though.

I'm sure you can do it, this plant is so nice you'll have a lot of fun with it! Mine does love a lot of light, even though I might be giving it a little too much, cause it's bleaching a little from the direct sun. From time to time I switch it out with another plant though and it seems to be ok with a little more shade as well. Only issue leaves aren't getting as big there.

Hahaha, that's funny cause it is the first red lipstick where I actually feel like it suits me. It's from: Loreal, Color riche , matte, color 348 brick vintage. Also thanks for the kind words, I really do not regret buying these plants. 😊

Glad you have made some money back.....there are still a "few" I would like in my collection...well at least we know more than 2 years ago...I too spent lots of $'s on some small plants, that are still small and some struggling :( but I know more now and know what I would like to add in the future! Your plants for sale are beautiful and I am sure everyone who buys from you keeps coming back for more! I will never stop loving plants! Hi Justina, thank you for always being here. Well at least some of the plants I was able to sell some cuttings. For others, like the alocasia I am still nursing the babie plants up to a decent size, so I can hopefully sell some in the future. I feel like all crazy plantparents have a similar experience. Once we start collecting, it get's out of hand fast. We buya lot of plants and some of them don't make it. But that is totally normal I think. We live and we learn 😉. I can't imagine a life without plants to be honest. 🌿💚

Loved the video! Really funny and interesting! My most expensive plant (so far) is an El Choco, bought it for 60€ a few weeks ago. It was a small, established plant but rotted within a week of arriving. It now lives in the ICU (my prop box), hopefully it comes back to life 🙏

Oh no...that's a shame. Crossing my fingers it'll survive and get back to health fast 🤞. I have issues with my El choco props as well atm.. They root and grow well, then suddenly all roots die and I have to reroot them again. It's really weird. As always, thank you Ingrid 💚.

Oh no, that sucks, I was hoping that prices would have dropped by now. I have the feeling a lot of people are currently resolving their collections and demand isn't as high. It's honestly ridiculous that prices keep being that high.

I'm surprised at the prices of some of these in Europe! They're easily 5 to 10 times cheaper here in Southeast Asia!

Yup since none of these plants grow well in our climate we have to import everything, for example from Asia 😅, or grow it in giant greenhouses in the Netherlands. I guess that's why it's more expensive.

@@LeafyLuster that makes sense! I follow Pretty in Green and I was so fascinated by how many of these plants are made with tissue culture overseas! I understand why it's so expensive then, I suppose over here a lot of these are chopped and propped instead.

Exactly! I also believe costs for living, electricity/growlights, renting spaces and employees are just more expensive in genereal.
