HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH TO PAY FOR A PUPPY 

I got Lucky.. a friend gave me a Rotty puppy. He didn't even veted. She lived 11yrs. Excellent guard dog, companion to my family. Only aggressive when it had to be. Cried when I put her to sleep......

I'm seriously impressed with your attitude towards this subject. It's insane here in the uk people get rid of dogs like they are trash. It can take months and months to rescue a dog from a shelter and there is a huge chance you will be declined but I can by one on the internet for like £50. It's a shame he situation here is out of control. Personally I think in our situation over here we should bring back required licences to own a dog. Great video!

Our Samoyed was $2500. Good pedigree, excellent genetic health, we know the sire and dam. Champions on both sides. I support rescues, but a mix breed isn't for me and I need to know the genetic background and health and temperament of the parents.

Well spoken. For a purebred with NON champion [show quality] pedigree I would not pay more than $1500 as well...and that's with papers. W/o papers no more than $1000. No papers and no vet approved health guarantees - no more than $800. My opinion thnx

Picked up a Labrador off the street. Best dog I've ever had. She was about a year old and she's super smart.

I adopted my dog. He's a Rottweiler something (I'm guessing Blue Heeler or something like that). He's what I call my helper dog. I went into the shelter and I asked for the most mellow, easy-going dog to help me with some problems I have and it was just a huge bonus he was a Rotty mix. He was barking like crazy then I said his name and he sat all nice for me and vibrated his doggy butt (he sits on his tail and wags so hard it vibrates his whole body). When I met him, he greeted the friend that came with me and then sat right next to me and waited as I talked to the case worker about him.

I have no idea who this guy is, but, wow. I'm impressed. Fabulous and well thought out information/opinion. Well done !

This is really a good, solid and realistic video and has a good amount of points and whatnot. Plus it is good you go over the prospect of adoption as well as financial matters. I appreciate the fact that you actually know what you talk about and don't just spit out old, outdated nonsense that has since been proven wrong in your videos. I have met some bully-breed owners before at dog parks who clearly are just terrible representatives of their breed of choice. Good job and I really enjoy checking out a lot of your videos. I personally am actually planning on a Tibetan Mastiff in the near future, but it will be more for a working dog, not really a pet. Hence why I chose to go to a breeder regarding a Tibetan Mastiff. Though some day I will likely adopt some sort of bully-type breed of dog from a shelter and work with the dog then go into public education with the dog as the mascot to help people learn more about the issues with breed discrimination.

In the private FB groups we get a lot of people who haggle or ask for a rottie at way below the going price of some of the pups on the lower end of the budget spectrum. I've even encountered a guy who said they'll just feed the puppy scraps as he grows since that's what the mixed breeds eat, blah blah and he wants a nice rottweiler. God, if only he knew that dog meds will be priced depending on the dog's weight and usually the bigger the dog, the more expensive the meds.

Good video I paid $3000 for my rottie pup with the top bloodlines in Germany and Croatia both parents were imports every dog in his pedigree has at least 2 working titles. He is worth every cent too.

IN UK - rescue centres take too long , FREEADDS - for eg......charging ''thousands'' for puppies - absurd prices.....there are many people who would like a dog, for a pet that cant afford initial payments that high.... shelters in usa churning dogs that are put down untio fertilizer ............

Exactly. People think too much of them as pets or items. No, it's a living being that you're going to take care of for 10+ years and they require proper care which is not cheap. That is part of the reason many breeders ask for $$$ because they took the time and they don't want to see the animal go to a poor ass family that will neglect. My brother FOUND 2 dogs over the corse of 10 years and I feel bad for them because he is bad with money and can't afford their medical bills or even to put them to sleep. I've spent in in the past 5 years at least 7K on medical bills keeping my fur kids happy and comfortable.

I agree !... Various things that go into pricing a pup. Bloodlines. health. Quality and established breeder / kennels. As a seller the variables are things like time planning amount of funds put into the litter. how many pups in litter and again quality of the breeding match up. But as I said I agree with you. A quality pup with papers a buyers contract and first shots and a good health check from certified vet with money back guarantee. $1,000 - $2500 is a fair price to ?

Sure, if money is an issue it's best not to get a dog until you're ready. Dogs are time consuming and the upkeep is a constant. Training classes should also be a consideration. It would certainly be helpful. 👍

I spent 2800 on my Neapolitan Mastiff along with a kennel, leash, collar, some toys, and pretty much everything I needed to star out with a puppy. Shes now a little over one year old. She is Pure bred. came from champions she's a beautiful dog. crazy smart. very well trained for protection of my family, she is going to be part of my family for several years to come

1 time I was looking at a chance to get a daxlines magoo pup and they start between 18-20 thousand I was like wth does the dog crap gold lol some people just sell dogs for the money and not for he love of the dog or the reason to wanna give a great companion to a person or a family

People do just get money hungry I would never pay more 3000$ for a quality dog. Those breeders can do just fine sellin 10 pups at 2 or 3 grand

I do usually 5k and up for the pups I sell and buy. heavy dax, Louis v, kurupt, kingpin line. a lot of hard work and a lot of time and dedication to making sure the bulls are happy and healthy.

pretty sure everybody understands breeding animals in general is not quick therefore can’t be a get rich quick scheme however if you just had two or three family dogs that’s different you could make a shitload of money off a couple rounds of puppies and if you don’t find homes for all of them keep the dog and then train it to be a protection dog or sport dog or something that you could make money off of obviously if you’re doing it from a business perspective meaning you have a kennel you have a bunch of dogs and you have scheduled breeding of course you’re not gonna make any fucking money you have all the shit going into dogs instead of them just being a family dog that you would have regardless if you were breeding or not even if you do end up keeping three or four puppies before you retire the dogs then you train them like I said before even if you don’t sell them give them to family members maybe donate them to a service dog for veterans type of thing I don’t even know if they have that just trying to make an example but anyways you get my point that you can be ethical and good breeder such as keep the puppies that don’t meet the standards you follow anyways of ramble on Long enough for you to understand my point thoroughly
