Don't do it. Welding is very underpaid. They don't make as much as people think. I was making $12/hr with no benefits as a welder. I quit and became a door greeter for Costco, making $29/hr with full benefits. No wonder why there's a shortage of welders....

@@brycecooley7017oh what the heck I jus grad from welding and starting pay for me was 25 and I do tig there’s guys in our union making up to the 40s

@@WesternWeldingAcademy I am a diver we weld, rig, do mill work, and pretty much everything that is done top side we do under water.

@@Buckwheat2080is under water welding worth it like the money the traveling and just the job in general this Chanel always says it’s not worth it and the moneys not their but I wanted to know straight from someone who has experience and actually has been their.

@@BennetChurch a diving career pay wise is the same boat there will be great paying jobs on occasion but most is not much more than any other trades. Union pays well but it’s thin when it comes to jobs out there. A diver welds 100 hours topside for every hour welding under maybe. You can get a welding job once you certify but you can certify any where even in your yard. Diving you have to go to school. Diving is much more fun than welding but like both they are cranking out more than the market needs. They tell you it aint worth it because they want your money. I certified to weld while at dive school thru night classes.

@@WesternWeldingAcademy he did, got it, but not a company. More like weld shop, pretty big weld shop that pays him 20-30 dollar a day. Told me, he said oil and gas are hard to get hired.
