@@hasantariq869 I am in my fifth year of residency and it is not hard to make your own meals. It takes me less time to make a quick breakfast & lunch in the AM then it would take to go to a fast food place or cafeteria to buy the food. Grocery stores have tons of foods that make it easy to pack quick lunches (baby carrots, mini cucumbers, mini hummus packages, precooked chicken, sandwiches, mini tuna cans, etc etc). A lot of these things are cheaper than eating out and healthier and fast! The more I work in a week the more I buy these things that are simple to prepare. Even when I worked 90-100 hours in a week I prepared most of my meals. I do eat out for dinner a couple times per week because I love it but I save a lot of money by making my own breakfast, lunch, and most coffee.

When I was younger and on a tighter budget, I listed (estimated) ALL my expenditure....EVERYTHING....then divided that by 12, added 5% for inflation and had a monthly Standing Order (for that sum) to a separate “Bills” account, against which I set up Direct Debits for Mortgage, Energy etc. that way I knew I’d allowed for all my essential spending and what was left in my normal account, was my discretionary spending.....and when it was gone (if before month end) I simply didn’t buy any “luxuries” like Starbucks coffee :- ) ...... I’ve NEVER been in debt and paid off my mortgage at 49. It’s really very easy, I live within my means - great video, they should teach this type of stuff in schools.....maybe they do now, but they didn’t when I was at school :- ) - Loving what you produce and thanks - Peter.

This is not accurate bc physicians like Abi in the UK are employed by their gov’t which has not kept proper funding for their healthcare workers Medicare 4 All doesn’t even come close to the nationalization of physicians in the UK, only the nationalization of health insurance Doctors’ pay in the US won’t drastically change bc if M4A Also, you need to look at it in terms of the potential lives saved and improvements in the qualities of lives of Americans with universal coverage instead of only doctor’s having their pays cut a little with implementation of universal healthcare Any respectable doctor would gladly rather see their patients being able to afford going to see them than dying with no coverage

This is great. We have to be realistic not just about what is economically okay but also what is suited for your lifestyle. There’s nothing wrong with wanting things, and I think you’re self-aware enough about the places in your spending that could be improved on, so I think you’re not oblivious to any of it (which would be a bad thing). I think just hearing someone talk about these things very openly is important. These are the realities of living a life like this, but at the same time you recognise that it’s controlled both by the circumstances you are in, and the choices you make. Long term there are probably things you could change and you are aware of that, and this process is essentially giving oneself awareness of how they spend and what they prioritise, which I think is so important in learning personal finance. Awesome video! Been really loving your content.

lets just appreciate how openly he speaks about money. I find it sad that this always such a taboo topic. Some of the comments are funny af but there's basically just roasting going on in the comment section lol. Sure he didn't tell us much about his earnings but that again I think would've unnecessary in this video anyway. I'm sure he can easily afford this Lifestyle so it's up to him on what he spends his pounds lol

@@tortureh2371 Nope, everyone thinks doctors earn a shit-load as soon as they finish medical school. Really they earn very average wages for at least the first 3-4 years of their careers. Doctors are pretty broke until they're in their late 20's / early 30's unless they have alternate income streams... and this is the case for doctors in most developed countries such as Canada, UK and Australia. US may be different because healthcare is almost entirely privatised and prices are overinflated massively... but then US med student have to deal with 5 - 6 times the debt once they graduate from university since it isn't government subsidised like in other countries... so even if they earn a decent bit more straight out of medical school, they're broke too.

That is the standard pay for doctors in NHS. Unfortunately, some people believe myths that doctors are so well paid. This does not even take into account unpaid overtime hours and staff shortage.

An option that you could look into that might help you save time and money is look into getting an instapot. Rainbow Vegan Life has instapot specific books ( I am sure there are others but hers is the only one that I know), and you could try or doing bulk/leftovers for lunch, or if you don't like leftovers then just make the meals smaller. Or you can look into a meal kit service as well, whether it is pre cooked or you have to cook it. I have found even though I could save money on just planning meals, it reduces the friction and effort to make sure I get a well rounded healthy meal on the table. Plus it gives more recipes to add to the book. :)

Really appreciated the insight re striking the balance between decisions/actions and financial impact, and also factoring in how the additional daily expenses trade off against the time freed up to e.g. make your videos... Understanding this is probably really crucial also for people closer to the poverty line, but I'm gonna also give some thought to how baseline level of financial security 'should' move the slider in terms of decisions/actions vs financial impact
