Managers for places like Target and other struggling big retailers they work their asses off and they don't get a lot of money. So that $35,000 raise for her through GoFundMe. There's a 99% chance that that money would have made a huge difference in her life. But she felt she didn't earn it so she donated it to charity. Her character is obviously quite the opposite of the entitled award-winning journalist who probably makes four to ten times what she makes in one year.

She should have pulled the _display_ and said, "This is what you get for 1 penny."

It would cost more for him to file the complaint than it would to just pay the regular price for the toothbrush, and that doesn’t include all the subsequent filing fees, the cost of traveling to court, etc.

I love how he's claiming he's poor yet he's willing to go to court which, depending on how long it's drawn out, will cost him at least four and likely five figures for a case that will reward him... a free toothbrush. The price of simply going to see a lawyer to ask if there's even a case in this would likely cost more than the toothbrush.

In the UK even if the price sticker is on the item it does not have to be honoured no matter how reasonable it may appear to be. In law it is known as " an invitation to treat". Once the store and the customer agrees a price, normally by money changing hands, then that is usually the end of it.

I was an arsehole too , when I was a smart ass teenager , while cycling through Banff BC in the 60s ,a corner store had a sign up [ postcard .05 C ] = [cents] I counted up 20 walked to the counter and placed a penny on it. After a brief argument the owner called the heat .there was no debate the RCMP escorted my buddys and I 10 miles down the trans Canada highway , told us never to return after disallowing us to buy a pop or can of sardines in town. It was 100 k to the next store . sometimes arseholes get fucked up by dicks.

It's annoying how people are so quick to go down the lawsuit route, it's only happened recently, but people are filing a class action lawsuit against Sony, because some people have been experiencing drift with the new controllers. Are warranties a thing of the past these days?

Thanks for giving us the poster child for entitled posturing assholery! Perhaps the award-winning journalist can buy a regular non-powered toothbrush, like the ones everyone on the planet used for centuries to clean his entitled teeth, since he’s chosen not to go to a dentist for years. My father used to say there were amateur pricks and professional pricks; David is clearly a pro.

My missus highlighted to me how much of a dick I was on Twitter and when I looked at it in a critical was I realised she was bang on the money and I quit it. It was a brilliant decision. Yeah, there a few times it would be handy and I miss a few if the funny accounts I used to follow but wading through shit fir the occasional flake of gold just wasn't worth it and I feel much better without it. Social media has the potential to be really very good but Twitter is just a cesspool and warps everything around it. Far too many people, including companies and politicians take it seriously despite its relatively small user base and the sooner it collapses the better.

As someone from Massachusetts, this is actually how the law works. Whatever the store puts up as the display place is what the customer has to pay, so a lot of times this is what happens when sales tags are left up and the sale is a few days old, they still get the price labelled.
