Thank you the graphic analysis. However, it would be great if you could show real-time video, or at least the 3-d model executing the changes to the swing. I am also recovering from a 15 year absence from the game due to a chronic lower back problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for giving me some hope.
So interesting, very impressive, thanks! Do you know how he went about actually making the changes to his swing? Typically it’s so hard to make actual changes to gross movement patterns like this
I'm a little baffled by this - it looks as though the underlying cause of the increase in separation in the first swing was simply less separation in the backswing that allowed more separation during transition - separation was great to the extent Cantlay was no longer able to add extra separation later in his swing. Does this mean it's purely a backswing rather than downswing (transition) change? Think it would be useful if you explain how such a change could be incorporated into a swing, for example, more complete turn against quieter lower body. Thanks for sharing an interesting piece. Edit - just had a look at his 2019 swing and it makes sense now. The downswing is a lot less violent and in sync with downswing compared to his old swing. I would be interested to know whether this resulted in any loss of distance.
Cantlay continues to keep his left big toe down at impact. Zalatoris took himself out of the game and into the operating table for the reason, that even TPI doesnt understand. Jack G.O.A.T Nicklaus and Johnny Miller rolled their ankles, inversion of the foot for a reason. Seems only Gerry Hogan, from Australia understood this decades ago.
So a change was made. What was the change? This is really like bringing all the suspects into the room, showing a film of the murder and then saying, "Ok, thanks for coming." Dr. Greg, please...
