After staying in China for almost 8years, I have seen lots of improvements and also in the lives of Chinese people, it is much easier for them to go with the cooperate jobs. On the other hand, online jobs or workers do make lots of money too, but it takes lots of work and I think the communities and old people are gradually getting used too the online world. It might take a long time for all Chinese to come to accept the streaming world.
All the interviewed chinese people had such intelligent and creative answers. loved the video and the topic of social media influencers. thanks Asian Boss

You should interview what Filipinos think about banning South Korean songs and shows in the Philippines and vice-versa please? Edit: Filipino politicians decided to ban Kpop and Kdrama
Live-streaming allows the steamer to earn income while also doing the things they love. One of the most popular livestreams out there consists of gaming. The streamer can go on for hours and hours playing multiple games all at once, and they would still generate a lot of views depending on the streamer’s popularity on a particular live-streaming platform. Thank you as always, Asian Boss. Your videos have always been awe-inspiring and informative. I hope you continue to work hard as a team. God bless you and everyone on here as well.
that's true, but unless you have a great personality, skills or looks to stick out from the herd, most will not be able to earn enough to buy food. And with all the equipment and editing, you'll be starting out in a great deficit before you even start.
@@user-c3jdf9lylzse but only a much smaller scale. For entertainment, you have a following and you are settled for life with the amount of money you have. For influencers, at any point if you become irrelevant you cant afford anything anymore
You should also ask how popular is live streaming as a job in Korea. Seems like live streaming is quite popular there. There are a bunch of live streaming sites there and they do it all, from eating food, gaming, to dancing or stripping for donations from viewers
In China, almost everyone does live streams. Not just influencers, or normal citizens but also SWAT members, traffic police, border soldiers, etc... Of course, unlike normal people, police officers live stream in order to promote laws, and soldiers live stream in order to increase the patriotism of Chinese people.
I think there’s an university in Ukraine offering a program in TikTok creation. They view Tiktok or online creation as a creative art form that can offer livable income.
sometimes they are saying envious, not jealous. there is a difference. i think more vetting of words/translation needs to be done as ive seen a drop in recent videos
Live streaming is huge in China. It can be about almost anything. Literally an influencer. Most of them air in a small room and for hours and hours. Probably not the best work place. Honestly, gaming is pretty bad in China and now streaming...everyone will just be on their phone all the time. Online shopping is pretty big too and lure you in to buy all these useless stuff.
Twitch, a U.S. based app is pretty big in China with lots of live streamers using the platform. Surprised it was able to penetrate China’s walled garden of U.S. based social media platform.
Most people think these Chinese people are locked up and being brainwashed, well you have no idea how techy and smart the young generation is now in China.
I think it’s ok to be streamers, but viewers shouldn’t overwatch. Perhaps there should be more research done on viewers of live streamers. Like the growing parasocial relationships with streamers and even the effect on mental health when viewers subconsciously compare themselves to streamers projecting the glamorous parts of their lives and also if it makes people more withdrawn from society
Im thankful of having my dream job right now, which is IT support, after struggling of experiencing other unrelated job like sales and marketing early on in my youth. At first moving from my sales and marketing job to IT support,it didnt really make that much, but thankfully support from co worker and my own boss to take a grade promotion before he being moved to other branch that I can finally make decent from my job. Why an IT support bcome my dream Job ? Because Im in love with computer and all tech related stuff since very young albeit I never have computer before college but I love read about them and experiencing DOS on my junior high seems like a revelation. For some reason I am excel at computer lesson naturally while other of my friends struggling although, like I wrote before, I never have computer stuff at home before my 2nd year of college (and my main major are not exactly computer related). Im quickly grasp lesson in matrix, binary and even machine language related lesson (studying Z80). And even when have trouble at work, Im enjoying each step of solving the problem and it creates satisfaction inside.
@@pepelepew1227 Yep, thats why I said it decent, not much, in my comment before. Regardless, as long as we feel thankful to what already given to us, it will be enough, for me at least.
It's not been properly defined what is considered a "streamer". The lady kind of touched on that - you one day decided to upload a single video on whatever and you're suddenly a "streamer"? The 10% probably an estimate how many people ever uploaded a video they created themselves onto a streaming platform then counts toward the number. Most people in that percentage probably did it very casually or only did a few times.
It's basically the same everywhere. That's why quiet quitting is on the rise. Nobody wants to devote all their time and energy to a job that makes them unhappy
Chinese women are so well dressed and generally put together! Same for the Japanese and Jorean. (Not fancy. Just put together) I feel like we should learn from them. We have become way to casual & lazy here in the West.
Interesting to hear that boomer lady echo a lot of the same talking points as US boomers about 90s/00s kids having never fallen on hard times. Like even though many of those kids had/have all their immediate needs met, there's so much existential hardship on a global level (wars, climate crisis, economic instability, etc) causing mental illness. Also, ma'am, a global plague is 100% a legitimate hardship.
The stuff you mentioned are just media talking points for the sole purpose of generating views. It's an absolute truth that young Chinese people have much better living conditions than their parents in the past. And it's not farfetched to think that some will be spoiled as a result. I don't think the auntie's talking points are unreasonable.
@@yume6532 hmmm i don’t necessarily agree. while it’s true materialistic conditions have gotten better, there’s so much more competition + slowing economy extinguishing hopes of social mobility = much more stress. The auntie also recognized it, but I think she’s well off which is why she said young people who can afford it are now lying flat, as the youth around her are probably well off too
nobody even thinking about being a pro athelet , that's actually saddest thing. expecially compare with neighbor country like Korea and Japan, soccer or baseball pro players are alwasy most popular career for their kids.
It depends on the creator and the content they posts on platforms like TikTok, Weibo, RED, Kuaishou or traditional video sites like Tencent Video, Youku and iQiyu
popular within china live streaming only to china audience? there may be some restrictions as it is CCP... so may not popular in sense of numbers but they are restricted in what they can say and stream! its probably because of the lack of jobs and unemployment rate and people just find ways to make themselves busy and find ways of income, even if there are restrictions
I don‘t think they are off topic, because their theme is to let the world hear the voices of Asians. I think interviewing the views of Chinese people on Internet celebrities is a normal theme for them.

Open your eyes and see the world. This is the ordinary people in China. Your narrow mind makes you feel that everything that is different from what you think is fake. What a pity😅
