Even though he totaled under 30 WAR in his career, a lot of the value he brought to his ballclubs was intangible. Miguel Cabrera would have never won the Triple Crown without him, and this video explains how Prince made his great teammates even better.

Mike Trout played great defense in center field, was one of the most efficient baserunners in the game, and hit nearly as well

1) Those are all offensive stats; WAR also factors defense and baserunning 2) Positional relativity. A CF with a 150 OPS+ is more valuable than a 1B with a 150 OPS+, since 1Bs are typically better hitters
