Great Video. I had a problem with wife's 2007 Camry. Thought it was a a possible blend door issue but turned out to be something different. Dealer wanted $2800 to fix the problem. $2500 for a new Control Panel and $300 for diagnostics. I said no thanks and drove home. Watched a few videos and talked to a few friends. Made a trip to the local auto store bought a can of A/C charge for about $50 and all is well in the land. No problems. It was just low on charge. We have no proof but suspect the local repair shop that we recently went to had let the charge out because I made them pay for a new radiator after breaking mine while replacing my alternator. They were also upset that I made them wipe off all the greasy hand / glove / paw prints off the hood and front of the car when they were done. Don't you love just love it when someone uses an oil filled rag to wipe up oil. I mean really, how much oil can a oil filled rag hold before it just smears it around? OK yer cars done!! That'll be $157.99 Please!! We even wiped'er down a bit!!

Can it suck all the old PAG oil, even without the refrigerant in the system? (et's say lif you installed a new drier, compressor...ect. This way you can put in the correct amt of oil system requires, if you can remove all the oil from the system even from the new compressor which some comes with oil in it. That would be great if it can do that. )

If the system is empty because of an accident by a friend who accidentally hit one of the lines to the compressor and all refrigerant leaked out with psssschh it was a very warm/hot gas that was coming out. Ive replaced that small little line of like 30cm. What about oil then? How much to add? Did the oil escape out when the gas did? or can the ac machine still recover if any oil are still left in the system and then add the new correct amount? sorry for my english :)

Thanks! Are you charging with the engine on or off? Also do you ever verify what pressures are in case you ever find yourself helping someone who only has gauges? I was surprized that you only put the amount of oil in that came out as opposed to putting closer to the system spec back in. Many times when a bad compressor is taken off it will be completely dry with zero oil in it. When it came new it had 4 oz's. I was wondering how the amount of freon is determined by the designer. Do the teach that info? Thanks! love the exciting music up front.

I end up with pressure still on the gauges after charging the system and disconnecting the hoses. I normally select recover after disconnecting hoses and get about .25lbs out of just the hoses. One of the steps when replacing a compressor is to flush the system, but often people gloss over that step. I've seen some use compressed air, which seems like a strange thing to do since high pressure air will always include water that will condense everywhere. Is it common practice in the automotive industry to use compressed air, or do many shops use nitrogen? Is it common practice to use a volatile flush solvent?

The machine recover and drain the hole oil system including compressor oil...or just recover oil from condensor, evaporator, dryer and hoses only? How to know there is excess or missing oil? How to proceed with ideal oil charge with machine..or we should do it manually? I searched a lot on RU-vid, websites and forums..But i did not find anyone talking in a clear and practical way about this topic. Hi, I love your videos.. Great Work. I have a 2003 Tribute with 165k miles. I changed the compressor because of a bad pulley bearing. I used a re-man'd 4 Seasons compressor. It failed after about 8 months(leaked from the compressor). They replaced it, but the replacement had a bent pulley shaft which caused a leak. They again replaced it, but the third replacement was noisey from the beginning... Then it too leaked out the coolant. I gave up and went to a local repair shop. He used a NAPA compressor which lasted 3 weeks, and it too was leaking from compressor. The local shop re-charged the system about 3 weeks ago... So I'm waiting to see how this compressor works. Any ideas?? Each time the compressor was changed, I changed the receiver/dryer and orifice tube. The shop claimed to have flushed the system too. Thanks!!

Does it suck most or all the oil out?

Usually 1-2 ounces comes out with the refrigerant and drained in the bottle below to be measured.

If you don't mind my asking, what does this machine cost? We need a new one, but I'm not sure what to get.

Got my 609 cert. a few years ago - great investment come summer time... I searched your channel and I have a non-A/C question : On the Focus Mk1 (2004 SVT) is it possible to remove and replace the _front sway bar bushings_ without dropping the subframe? The end links are good but all the bushings are original double digit years old and it's time for a set of polyurethane bushings. I will also have the lower control arms off during the process but don't have a lift. ANY tips & tricks will be very appreciated.

Im in the same thoughts. Ive read that its possible to do without dropping the subframe but its a very tight job I've read and seen on youtube. People made it though. how do you know that the bushings are bad?
@dieselscience
@dieselscience 2 года назад
@@orfeous UPDATE - it's not too difficult if you have a LOT of extensions with a few universals then work it from the top. Factory bushings are _always bad_ compared to urethane bushings.

@@dieselscience I'll guess the bolts will not be easy to remove though after all years. :)

2013 A/C question F150 ecoboost when not in recirculate mode using just vent I still get some heat into the cab,... so I have to use max A/C to get any decent cooling,... my question is can I pinch/clamp one of the heater hoses to get around this issue? which one? the dealer gives the typical everything is normal answer but there should not be heat coming in when I try to use the cool vent on a cool day,.... plus I dont get much a/c unless I am on max but i want fresh air a/c usually at night what do you think about that story? robert in niagara falls,.....dealers here are very bad!!

Sounds like the blend door isn't closing all the way. It directs the path of the air coming through the HVAC box. Take it to a different place or dealer and have them check it. It may be normal in that the air intake for the heater system could be getting heat from the engine compartment. Ford used inline heater valves for a lot of years. I would get it checked first though.

when it is cool outside and I want that fresh cool air inside I use vent but I get warm air, the dealer says its working normal but they always say that so if I dont trade it in on a honda I may put in a valve

Thank you for this Great video .. but i have question ! most car dealer has common method to fill the AC when engine On and with pressure Gage , what is the difference between them . !?
@thomassmitch3160
@thomassmitch3160 5 лет назад
The different is to know how good is the ac compressor, that's for the high pressure line have to be connected ,so in that case if the compressor is good or not u will know by the pressure

Hi! How do I recalculate/recompensate for the lost oil that goes with the refrigerant on recovery or loss? Is there any mathematical formula to determine how much oil is left on the system parts after the recovery?

@@tizocchuck5944 The only 2 things I can think of is that either you have a small leak or your vacuum pump is worn. Check your set-up first with out connecting to your car's A/C system to eliminate your set-up is not leaking or your vacuum pump is worn out.
