In india two types of liquor available . 1, IMFL -Indian Made Foreign Liquor ,purely indian made with foreign blend. 2, FMFL-Foreign Made Foreign Liquor,Imported from foreign countries.
All scotch whiskeys are only distilled in Scotland. Otherwise they are just called single malt, blended whiskey etc. You cannot call any whiskey distilled outside Scotland as scotch whiskey. It is manufactured in Scotland and shipped all over the world. That is why it's expensive.
During our visit to Scotland, we visited this distillery. An Irish woman was our narrator. She took us to all the places, encouraged us to take photographs ( except in a few areas where photography is not permitted ). Experienced taste of Whiskies. Those who drive the vehicles are not permitted to taste it., instead sample bottles were given to them.

A Whiskey becomes a Scotch whiskey when it satisfies following criterias. 1) It should be manufactured and bottled exclusively in Scotland 2) It should be matured for atleast three years in oak casks. 3) It should have 40 per cent alcohol by volume. So all Scotch Whiskeys are manufactured and botteld in Scotland. And dear Sujith Bakthan. It's not Clenfidi'ച്' but Glenfidi'ക്'.
Distillery tour is definitely a must-do. Glad that you could experience it. We had a great time during our tour at Royal Lochnagar. They showed us the whole manufacturing process when we visited in 2020 after the first lockdown. As we mentioned in our vlog, it was a great experience and we recommend it to all looking for a wholesome experience of the highlands.
That was another beautiful visual experience delivered so superbly...how so well things are explained during these tours is what gives that" feel good" feel...though all single double n blended seem to come from the same place the variation in taste are mostly due to the source of water used, the flavors that seep in from the different types of barrels used , the ageing process etcccc....but definitely a splendid alcohol for that climate ....lovely video once again.

I think we Malayalees should stop the hypocrisy against drinking. Kerala has the highest rate of alcoholism in India, all my Malaysian Malayalee friends including our Malayalee friends from India (+ muslims) including me in Malaysia are drinkers. It is this hypocrisy that makes Kerala to have the highest rate of alcoholism in India. Nothing wrong drinking in moderation.

Foreign liquor in our land is just a mix of spirit with essance only. It's just Indian made foreign liquor which is cheap spirit. Though titled in the same style we don't have anything in common with the great brands. Originals are already exported to India.
