We wanted to see if the girls would be able to solve this puzzle, but it ended up just being a yellow bell pepper rain party! Turns out bell peppers were not the greatest option to put inside these puzzle balls. Next time we will definitely use small dry treats or pellets instead. Easier to clean and easier for the girls to solve! Have your guinea pigs played with these before? How did it go? Leave it in the comments below!

I gave my guinnies a ball like that, they were super angry until they figured it out. Then all I heard all night was them rolling it around. The secret is to put in stuff like pellets that does not go bad like fresh veggies, the stick to the walls of the ball whereas dry pellets don't and fall out. Mine also loved the part of the pepper you discarded more than the flesh itself. You can feed the seeds too it's not harmful to them.

Love you guys but let me give you a pro tip. You need to use DRY treats like pellets. Anything with any moisture is going to stick together or stick to the insides. I have a similar treat ball, same size but marketed for cats and my girls live it. I but a mix of their pellets and some forage and they roll it around, pushing it with their noses. The first time I gave it to them I did have to give it a few shakes, let a pellet or 2 fall out and then they got it from there. So try again, this time just use their regular pellets, you might want to make that hole smaller tho

I have the yellow ball for my girls and what I did is took their favorite Oxbow cookies and broke them apart into small pieces and filled it and put it my girls cage they caught on Super fast that to get anything they had to play piggy soccer.

Julia, on little adventures puts pea flakes in hers. But only one of her pigs ( freida) got the hang of it. Freida passed away last month and so they've retired the ball for now.

I had two guineapigs. Diablo and Woogie. Diablo figured out quite fast how to play with the ball and he was an efficient roller. Woogie however refused to play by the rules, he just stole the ball , carried it to the one of their hideouts and shaked and rattled it until he got the treats.

If you'd like to make a treat ball that can hold veggies, you can cut little rings of a toilet paper roll. Then put them inside one another so it makes a mini cage for veggies to be put in.

I think the problem was that you need to put something dry inside, like pellets, treats or peaflakes, that way they come out just fine.

Had the same toy for my guinea pigs a few years ago. Found out that pellets or dry treats worked the best, wet food was way too hard to get out since it just got stuck in the ball and my piggies gave up fast😅 (You hade to shake it quite hard urself to even get it out)

I saw one of them pick it up and toss it, lol!! Oh, goodness, they're th sweetest things, I love those piggies! I think people put pea flakes in them also, but only a few of my piggies like them, so sometimes I don't know what to put in it. I was actually going to do this with my piggies later, I have 2 of those treat balls, I've never seen the blue one, it's so pretty! I'm so happy you're putting out more videos, it means I get excited and hopeful everytime I see you uploaded. I struggle with depression, so your videos help me quite a bit, thank you!

I used to use a variety of dried treats and pellets, such as Oxbow treat hearts broken up, Alfalfa nibbles broken up, dried fruits, pellets, and pea flakes would also be good to use I would imagine.

OMG I have the same treat balls!! Watching videos like these is what inspired me to create a channel for my furbabies, though, I barely have any likes yet. Anyway, this video inspired me to try my Guineas' treat balls with them. The one Guinea I have now hasn't had the opportunity to use her treat balls yet because I used to use them all the time when it was just my other Guinea Pig and my old Guinea who is now in Guinea Heaven, and the treat balls were her favorite of all time, so I kind of put it away and couldn't bring myself to bring it back out since it was so sad to look at without her here anymore. I think it has been long enough, though, so I am going to bring it back out, clean it to be on the safe side, and maybe even make my own video about it. Your Guineas are just soooooooooooo ADORABLE!!!! #LOVELOVELOVE

Our piggies love this toy. Definitely works best with dry pellets or pea flakes. They also figured out how to get it out of corners and hideys by rolling it over their head and down their back, but I haven't been able to catch that on video yet.

I just think if it were pellets or some smaller trays would have worked! The hole was way too small.. or in a translucent container where they could actually see it! Funny video though, they are very very veeeery cute!! 🤗

just for a tip you dont have to wash out the seeds or cut out the middle a vet said its ok for them

Thank you for watching! You are right! You don't have to wash out the seed if you don't want to. I just choose to wash it mostly out of habit! Just extra work :)
