That actually makes sense because in the venom fight when you have to hold the triggers to pull Venom, that would have worked here with Peter removing the suit

kind of a minor gripe, but i never understood why Peter still had his mask on underneath the symbiote when it was removed while bonding with it. i know i know probably for the plot.
Well, it's also for the censors, too. They can't show him nude. The 90s animated series showed him shirtless but with boxer briefs. Spider-man 3 showed only his bare back, but that's it. Spectacular showed him back in the suit, like here.
Because he was wearing it when it bonded he proceeded to even go to sleep with it not even questioning if he should try to remove the symbiote and good thing he didn’t bc he probably would’ve freaked out realizing it’s not coming off
@@walkerfreeman2697But he wasn’t wearing the mask when it bonded to him in the game. So did Peter grab his regular mask and assimilate it into the Symbiote? (Which is a massive stretch). And then there’s all the shapeshifting the Symbiote was doing with making regular clothes. It just feels weird for the red and blues to somehow still be “underneath” the Symbiote. As well as not having the same damage it had from when Peter bonded with the Symbiote. It’s just a whole issue of thinking too hard about anything in media making it feel more convoluted and raises a bunch of questions.

Really dug in the Nintendo wii version of Spider-Man 3 that removing the symbiote became harder and harder as the game went on. Felt much more intense than this version. They also has a cool symbiote mechanic I felt. Giving the players consequences for keeping the suit on too long despite the strength it would grant you. Really underrated mechanics imo.
This shows how easy modern games go with the struggle mechanic now. Back in mah day we had to learn to over tense our finger to spam a button and id get blisters from rotating the joysticks on my palm too fast.
And every time I played those parts back then, I always eye rolled and wondered why tf devs thought having to train a twitch into your thumb to do something was good game design. I mean, your opinion is valid, but most people never liked old quick time events, especially the “mash your button into oblivion” ones. Much prefer something be too easy than for it to make something I do for fun annoying.
I think Spectacular Spider Man did great job here Symbiote did nothing to stop Peter but in the show he hold Peter and tied him into side of the church as he went inside his mind and tried to reason with Peter(some of things he said was truth) befote Peter was hopeless and wanted to bond with Symbiote again until Uncle Ben came and helped him not only once but twice this is why Spectacular Spider Man is my favorte show they nailed Symbiote personality and story
Yeah the Spectacular Spider-man show to this day is still the best adaptation of the symbiote arc, which is surprising that nothing has topped it since it was first shown about 10 or so years ago.
Idk what it is and yes ik I sound like a hater but this actually bothered me so much. Idk if it was the repetitive animation (since insomniac didn’t intend on show diff type of struggle animations when ripping of the suit) or just seeing the thumbsticks on screen but I do what what you were tryna do. It should’ve been more like Spider-Man 3 where he’s literally fighting himself whereas here he rips it off his face then torso and somehow it’s all gone.
Well done that was perfect! I did something similar to what you did, Im disappointed it wasn’t a challenge taking it off, you kind of have to be dramatic and resist holding the buttons for it to be an authentic Symbiote story.
It frustrates me to no end how anticlimactic that qte is. Like he dosen’t dramatically rip it apart after you finish, he just fumbles with it for a bit and then throws it
More QTEs showing Peter ripping the symbiote off of him throughout different parts of his body would’ve made it much better too. Kinda like how Spider-Man 3 did it.
What would've been a cool detail is if the symbiote ripped off patches of fbric from the suit itself, showing that it's trying to grip on by mere threads
The QTE’s should of also sort of fought back when you were doing it, all you needed to do was hold the joystick and thats it, it didnt like go back for a bit or do some sort of fighting back
did you add in yuri's cries and groans? i always felt like there was something missing from the game to give this moment its weight and i think that might just be it -- also god i wish you had to use the adaptive triggers here instead of reducing REMOVING THE SYMBIOTE to plastic joysticks
