I am German, but do I think Austria and Switzerland should be part of Germany just because of similar culture and the same language? Or are the United States still part of the United Kingdom just because of a shared language and heritage?

@@Ceratops17 I never said Taiwan was part of China. I’m just stating that people from Taiwan are Chinese not Taiwanese. Taiwan’s official name is Republic of China just so you know.

​@@danielan1319culturally they're different I guess. same shit in Mongolia and inner Mongolia, the regions have been isolated from each other for almost a century now. The culture developed on its own in a different way, outer Mongolian culture is more influenced by russian, and western and Korean pop culture has lots of influence here. In inner Mongolia, there's a lot more intermingling between the Chinese and mongolians (the Chinese outnumber the mongolians there now) so they developed a culture that's different from mongolian but also different from the rest of China.

The divergent history and demographic diversity of Taiwan construct unique Taiwanese culture and identity.
