I love the BeeGees! My dad introduce me when I was about like 7 years old and it’s something we bond over till this day and I’ve been in love with with them since. It’s a well done documentary.
I love the Gibb. The four of them are the most phenomenal song writers and singers I've ever heard. ❤ The fact that Barry and Andy had identical birthmarks just blows me away.
I remember seeing the Gibb boys quite a bit in Redcliffe Australia when I was growing up. They played little gigs around town, and I recall them singing on a Brisbane TV 'Telethon', which was a phone in charity event, and also near Christmas one year, on the rooftop play area where Mums left the kids while shopping at McWhirter's department store. They were only young in those days of course, but they had amazing harmonies even then. The memories of that time are wonderful. The city now has a special "Bee Gees Way' where Bee Gees memorabilia is displayed. This was opened by Barry Gibb.
Correct. But it was in Australia where/when their career began and took off after their amazing Australian success. They returned to England now adults and the rest is history
@@smokeybirdman I agree that they had their first commercial success in Australia. They actually formed their first band though and started performing on stageage in Manchester, UK. Therefore the dream as stated in the documentary did not start in Brisbane.
@@smokeybirdman A minor correction: Barry was just 20 in Sept 1966, and the twins turned 17 in Dec. 1966, when they boarded ship and landed first week of Jan. 1967.
@@cl7051 the bee gees started in brisbane Australia and their name was given them by the organiser of a local speedway where's as kids they performed on weekends. The crowd would throw money at them when they performed between races
@@smokeybirdman They started as a group in England however the group name was changed later when they moved to Australia. All members of the group were British.
