Is funny to see a black woman insulting ginger peope and calling them "so strange"... hundreds of years living with racism and not a single lesson learned...
+The Moordenaar From her accent, I'm guessing she's probably never had to live with racism on a daily basis. And, this proves that black people can be just as racist as white people.
hahaha I was thinking the same thing, also have in mind that many people can consider her a shitty woman just for being black, I am not saying racism is OK, but clearly she needs to learn how to respect and tolerate other people.
+soccerchamp0511 Wow, really? I though blacks were superior people who never used any racism at all. How fascinating that they can act just like other people.
There's actually a lot of assault & attacks to people who are redheaded. Even if you look at some crime statistics there are cases of people getting stabbed, assaulted or being bullied so bad their family has to move multiple times. All because of their hair.
I mean you shouldn’t bully anyone but you can dye your hair, not your skin, so it’s a bit different. I’d never dye my ginger hair, though, I don’t care what people say about it.
theimprobableone its horrible when people attack you for being ginger the only people that say it's wrong is your family or your true friends. When you understandably fight back. People say oh your too quick tempered because you're ginger.
IM A REDHEADED GIRL AND THESE PEOPLE ARE MEAN AF WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WORLD? WHO CARES? ITS A FUCKING HAIR COLOUR! AND TO SAY SOMEONE HAS NO SOUL BC OF THE COLOUR OF THEIR HAIR IS RIDICULOUS.
I never felt bad about my hair when I was young because I was the only redhead around for awhile. But yea, some of these ppl were unnecessarily nasty about it!!!
be praised that those chavs and thots don't like gingers, we're too good for trash. My family (the female side) is Ginger and they're the most beautiful people with red hair I've ever seen, they're genuinely stunning anyway so I don't get where they got the ugly part one from haha
Message to the world, don't take what Irish people say to heart, no one means any of it. In Ireland, one would expect a ginger to retaliate with a counter slag after which everyone would laugh it all off and move on. We all have ginger friends here so no one means it
If you are a person with red hair and are watching this video, just know that you are and your hair color is beautiful and these people are the ones without souls. The fact that they let hair color determine how they feel about a certain people is appalling. Ignore all of these bigots because you are wonderful!
I was watching this and knowing that people are thinking I'm a terrible person because I have a real person. Then I saw your comment and felt better! Thank you!
Victoria Thompson, I am one of the people who was interviewed during this video. And I want more than anything in the world to apologize for my comments. During this interview, I did not understand the subject of the video because of my low level of English. Er I thought we were talking about people doing a red dye to their hair. Hence my comment on mangas when I was asked where I thought the trend came from. I have to apologize, it was only a misunderstanding. having understood today what I was talking about I assure you that it is not at all my thought
Mia Lapointe - don't let it get to you, many people think gingers are super attractive. coming from a bisexual woman, both male gingers and female gingers are really handsome and cute
to the people saying redheads are ugly because they're so "weird" and rare, thats like a world full of coal, calling diamonds ugly because they're rare.
Well, I was born in Ireland and I think gingers are flaming hot. And I'm gay so I'm going to allow myself to complement you and tell you that , judging by your thumbnail , you look gorgeous. 😁
Oh wow. I never knew people hated red heads so much. that's crazy. A little hurtful at first but then I quickly realized it was just jealousy. it's cool. You stay boring and we will stay beautiful!!
So you think gingers are automatically beautiful because of their red hair....but don't think others are entitled to think they are unattractive based on them having red hair?? By the way I think you will find very, very few people here are in any way jealous of someone with red, there are so many of them there is nothing particularly special about them. Some red heads are good looking some are not and more importantly it should come down to the individual not some sort of fetish. It is true though here in Ireland that actual gingers are overall considered the least aesthetically appealing (that's not to say that none are above average), you don't have to like that fact but it is just the truth...even among gingers themselves, they rarely want to date one another. It's not just the colour of the hair, it's often what else that tends to come with it too....all very general but more often than not that's the case. It does not mean that we do not value gingers or treat them badly, just like fat people are generally considered less attractive than slim people aesthetically at least....and no the slim people are not just jealous! Anyone who is jealous of ginger hair....simply has to dye their hair ginger...it's an obtainable look....it can come right out of a bottle. I personally reserve actual judgement on a person until at the very least I've met them, how can I say someone I've never met or seen is beautiful or not? When you say "You stay boring and we will stay beautiful!!" are you saying that red heads are beautiful and not boring and other people are not beautiful and boring....all based on the colour of their hair? Perhaps everyone would be better off thinking in individual terms.
It goes back to the beginning of humans. White man meets the native red man, or the oriental yellow man, and all they want to do is dominate and kill each other. Luckily we are small in numbers, and possess great powers. :-)
Omg as if grown adults have these insulting views over hair colour wtf! Jokes or not, if people were this insulting over skin colour it would be a huge deal
elitebp being a ginger, kids are brutal. The worst story I heard was a guy dating a brunette. Fell in love. Met her mother who was a ginger. Broke up with her because he was afraid he would have a ginger kid ( they were talking marriage) He told her he could not face life with an ugly kid. He should not to that to a child or grandchild knowingly
Oh sh*te, your hair is gorgeous!! 😲 I have ginger hair too and so do a some of my friends and family members, but I don't think I've ever seen that brilliant shade before 😄 Plus, I can't quite tell if you have some sort of layered cut but your hair is all around stunning 🥰
Jesus... I didn't think red hair was seriously hated I just thought people made those jokes to be obnoxious but just... damn. I am so confused! Red hair is beautiful. Also, who cares if the person has red hair you can't be nice to them just because you dislike the color? Gosh this disgusted me.
+Rosalie Salyro Well it is generally a joke here in Ireland among actual Irish people...just like blondes are dumb and the likes of that. We literally rip the piss out of everything and everyone. Generally ginger haired people (not red hair although ginger is considered red, most red hair is not considered ginger) are considered less desirable/attractive overall. Not really hated just less favourable if you know what I mean.
Normans invaded but by that point they were highly anglicized. In the late 18th Century the French helped the Irish in the failed rebellion of 1798 kind of like the American revolution
in the 1798 rebellion, after the irish french and muricans fought for murican independence they tried to get irish independence, but the french landed at the wrong spot and that sorta fucked up the attempt
ALL I KNOW AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU LOVE WHO YOU LOVE AND YOU SAY WHAT YOU SAY That may or may not be End of the Day by One Direction on their fifth and best album so far but they will continue to get better and better as they grow wiser you know? But yeah BUY MADE IN THE A.M. ON iTUNES NOW!!!!!!
As a ginger I am laughing so hard right now. I don't understand how this could be anything but comedy. Being a ginger has it's ups and downs but all in all it is just hair and that's it.
People are so stupid. Hating on a ginger only for their hair color is like hating on blacks for their skin color or hating on blue eyes because brown eyes are the majority. I do not see why the hate against gingers. I think they are cool, because they are not many of them.
Oh my God I've never had this kind of experience growing up and living in the US, it's become a major part of my identity and I'm always complimented on it. I even visited Ireland and had no problem, plus the ginger men over there are EXTREMELY good-looking. These people suck lol
there are attractive redheads and ugly redheads, whatever country you go to. the non-natural redheads who dye their hair are the attractive ones. Life is harsh. Red hair combined with pale freckled skin is not an attractive combination. Generation upon generation of school kids are not all wrong. This IS the reality and is a commonly agreeable notion. I am a redhead (NZ born, Scottish heritage) and I have both these features. We need to suck it up and just make the most of our lives, despite this cruel infliction
being ginger, having Irish parents but brought up in England with an English accent, I've never had anyone say anything bad to me about my hair colour when I was in Ireland, in fact their birds were all over me A lot of these ppl on the vid aren't even Irish anyway And I disagree with you Daniel, my hair is slightly ginger, but my skin isn't that pale or freckled either, but I've had no problem with the females, in fact its been quite the opposite of problems for me, but I am very tall and built too, but I agree some gingers can be ugly
I'm actually surprised that so many people despise redheads. I'm a natural redhead and my hair is the thing that I get complimented on the most. I love that I'm unique and my hair actually makes me feel confident about myself. You should be proud of your hair color no matter what shade it is. All hair is beautiful and should not be discriminated against.
See. you'd think as an adult I'd be able to move on from this? but how is my hair not pretty? i thought everyone was pretty.. I thought I didn't have the right to claim who is pretty and who isn't?! I should just kill myself for having ginger hair.
Michael VR okay, then that's how it is in Sweden. Neither of us can speak for cultures that we don't understand. So I apologize for the generalization and misunderstanding. But in my culture, u r the nationality of where u are born. So to me, those women are French
Gingers are SUPER-COOL, & very sweet (I know quite a few)... my ex-room-mate, & one of my best friends is a Ginger, from The Czech Rep. (very rare to see). She's so kind, to everyone. And, I truly love her.
Why are you even asking the question, Its offensive. You wouldnt go make a video on "what Americans think of black people" or "the world view on Jews" because there would be uproar about it if anything negative was said, so why is it ok to allow rudeness and horrible comments against red heads. Because there are so few? I realise not everyone said bad things but one kid there said he'd kill himself if he was ginger, what sort of message is that to be putting out on the internet!
I'm a ginger and I totally respct people's opinion. So if you don't want to become a ginger, it's OK. But what was kind of rude was when those boys got asked if they would become gingers and one of them said he would kill himself... That wasn't really nice, was it? Or when people say we have no soul... Why? Because we are rude to some people? Well babe, maybe it's because some people insult us bcause of the fact we're gingers... I admit that I might not be nice to some people, but it's usually only those ones who insult me bc of the color of my hair... What on earth do you expect from me then? Plus we're definitelly not the only ones who are offensive, tbh - almost everyone is in some situation....
whoever made this video and left that in are a disgrace. You could do the same video asking what you think of black ppl, wonder if that presenter would have that ridiculous grin and be laughing then
Wow... I never realized how shitty people in Ireland are, I mean I'm sure there's nice ones, but coming from the "How Americans view gingers." This is actually really depressing. I couldn't make it through the video cuz it was hard to listen to it, but especially that one at 0:51 jesus christ, how can someone be such a horrible person ;-; This might just be sarcasm (which if this was in america I would just assume it was), but she said it with such animosity, WTF?
Ruth Morris This video was done very poorly. I have asked Yafa to remove it. I suggest you do the same. He should have asked people where they are from first, before asking them about Gingers. For Americans, there is a comedy cartoon called South Park who has a character called Cartman who hates gingers and is very outspoken about it. The American kids are quoting Cartman like it's an inside joke
Larry Summers That's weird too, because the American version of this was much more positive. It does make me feel better that they were quoting Cartman though, I didn't even notice.
That first group of guys were just plain mean. I'm a ginger and hearing this is just wow. "Would you be a ginger?" "I'd kill myself" "they have no soul" "it's not beautiful at all" why do you have to be so rude? I'm sorry I can't help what i was born with. Jesus.
First off, I wouldn't call them 'guys'. They looked like a bunch of teenagers so that explains a lot. As for the "I'd kill myself" comment the one fool made regarding if he were to dye his hair red, I've heard that from others before and when you tell them to please dye their hair red and rid the world of their stupidity, they actually have the gall to act hurt by it.
thepushanddewproject That doesn't change that ginger is not a race, ya asshat. I didn't say anything about it being wrong or right. Though, it's wrong to say either. Discrimination against anyone for how they are born is wrong.
Most redheads originate from Scotland, Scandinavia and the Netherlands. They adore them there ☺️ I’m a natural redhead with Scottish, Swedish, French, German and a wee bit Irish blood- I look different than most gingers because I have more neautral skin tone, hardly any freckles, and my hair is auburn red. It’s sad to see so many people there making fun of redheads as here in America myself and other redheads I know have been adored- also when I went to Scotland it was like being with my people !
People are like “ew it’s red hair” it’s not like we can change how we were born, yes we can dye it but the people like me who let it go natural don’t have to be criticized about it. If you were born without a leg I would be like “ oh look it’s that girl with no leg, ew” just no. Gingers are great and will ALWAYS be great. Yes I liked my own comment
An ex coworker of mine was a black ginger but she’d dye her hair and cover up her freckles. I wish she didn’t feel the need to hide how she really looked.
@@alyssadyer4096 I got black red heads in my family. My aunty Ty Lee, she looks white with pale skin but she's still ethnic. You can tell she's mixed. My cousin he is a red haired baby. And he's brown and he was so cute.
Its ridiculous how people judge a personas character just by looking at their hair color like your hair color has NOTHING to do with your character. There are still to many dumb people on this earth....
I am a ginger lady with pale skin, light eyes and freckles. Throughout my life I have gotten a lot of compliments and lots of stares mostly from men. Many men tell me they love redheaded women. YAY Gingers!!!!
As a non-ginger person, I can't believe how negative people are to people who have ginger hair. I find the no-souls thing in South Park really funny, but it's a fucking joke! People honestly think about hair colour??!!
Tbh I wonder why haircolor matters so much, people be like "oh racism is bad!" But once it comes to redheads it's absolutely normal to insult them. Thus the reason why I used to hate my red hair.
I understand the arab guy, I have a Turkish barber and they love ginger hair, and all the hairdressers have to feel your hair everytime. For me it is so normal as a ginger but understand that it is special for them to cut the hair. Many times and so many times people say: You're Irish, No I'm NOT, yes you are, you have red hair and people with red hair come from Ireland.
* I do NOT intend to sound rude here in any way, but let us please clarify a few things WRONG w/this video. I have been a redhead my entire life and have been working on a documentary film on redheads for years now. (thanks). 1st: The title and the entire topic is "How the Irish view Gingers." The title is wrong as Irish were, well very very few in the video, but mostly just tourists or transplants CLEARLY from other countries... on the most tourist-ridden area of Dublin. 2. The question is biased from the get-go. You should have been asking (the Irish folk that is) their view / thoughts on 'redheads' or 'people w/red hair'. By using the slang and slightly more NEGATIVE than positive "GINGER" (see also the movie 'the commitments' (woman barks at young Man playing drums w/"Owy Ginga!!!" or 'south park' of course, etc) you have already set-up the answer to be slighted / biased! 3. Almost like a sting operation. Again, not hating, just helping. If you are going to conduct such a study for a video that 88 thousand people are going to see (and being that most folk are quite dim they will take it as fact), you need to get a genuine answer / response and not one that can seem or feel set-up or a 'joke' or just for a laugh, etc. Example: In this video you walked-up to anyone with a smirk on your face and asked, "So uhm like whudda'ya think of GINGERS?" Again, most folk are dim - I am NOT saying I am brilliant, just stating a sad fact (the kardashians are STILL a #1 show! look at the 'music' that now becomes thought of as GREAT, etc (see also bill maher's rant on 'Americans are stupid') (I know, diff' country, but the basis rolls almost the same) - - They are going to feel, if only in a small way (a giant way to the middle/high school kids) that this is a comedy situation - therefore, no real thinking, no facts, no discussion of real facts... just a completely shaved-down, quick thought of "what can I say here to go along with the situation that I am in?" To get a clear, far more un-biased view on such a question, you would have to ask other questions before and after it. Example: "Hi, we're taking a poll on fashion & pop culture, ... etc - what do you think of Men or Women w/a shaved head? How about blond hair on Men or Women? How about red-haired Men or Women? And brunettes?" 4. Because this is a bit of a study you could have thrown-in some date. If the only popular thought someone brings-up here is the 'south park' ep' (very negative on the subject at hand) you could have given some factual redheads instead of fake ones. The people being allowed to ponder for one extra second would only suggest 'thinking' (let's think of something real instead of just an angry fat kid in a cartoon). A few you could have mentioned: Damian Lewis, Amy Adams, Eric the Red, Lief Ericson, Galileo Galilei, Angie Everheart, Antonio Vivaldi, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Mark Twain, Julianne Moore, Vincent Van Gough, Tori Amos, James Joyce, Redd Foxx, Malcolm X, Chuck Norris, Eric Stoltz, Danny Elfman, 'Sinbad', Dave Mustaine (MegaDeth), Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman, Kari Byron, Conan O'Brien, Mark Maguire, Charles Darwin, Josh Holm (Queens of the stone age), Shaun White, Tina Louise (Gilligan's island), Glenn Hansard ('Once' film), Nicole Kidman, Bill Burr, Prince Harry, Lauren Holly ('dum & dumber'), Tim Minchin, Saul 'Canelo' Alverez, Ann Margaret, Simon Pegg, Ed Sheeran, Molly Quinn, ..... 5. "In Dublin where gingers originated" (00:35) - - No, redheads did NOT originate in Dublin (nor all of Ireland). There are FAR more redheads per capita in Scotland than Ireland, but most all studies show that it were the Norse from Scandinavian countries that brout the redhead gene down to Scotland and then to Ireland, Wales, England, mainland Europe, and throughout water ways to Russia, Ukraine, Italy, etc. Please do a basic search on this- here is one to get you started: google or bing: "Vikings responsible for Scottish red hair gene". (Hey at 04:25 there is an informed Gentleman! Hooray!) I like what you do yaffa, but please, even though it is so easy (compared to making a correct / factual study / documentary film) to have fun with this, do NOT let your study become so easily compromised by diving-in w/an incorrect way. Big hug- be well.
Hi. I just want to say. I also have been doing research and want to create a documentary talking about my experiences as a Ginger. How I believe Ginger hate is the purest form of evil, considering no one else can be mocked for skin color or hair color without a civil war starting but people do whatever they want to Gingers and dare to call us the soulless ones. I’ve experienced a great deal of hate crimes and villainization. Please check out info on my Instagram @kaleidoscope_eyes_1111. Contact me and I hope we can help each other raise awareness. Thanks.
It's insane how prejudice people can be towards someone with redhair. The young immature group of guys asked first are obviously children and think that saying something hurtful is funny.
Funny how if this was on skin colour it would probably be taken down........ Hating people for their skin colour? Not okay! Hating people for their hair colour? Grand and even praised. It makes me sad how ignorant some people are😑
i remember when i was little just crying every night wishing i was born with normal brown hair. looking back at it now i actually love being ginger it’s less generic and rare especially with blue eyes. so suck it
im an irish ginger and for all you in the comments saying that these people didnt mean it and it was irish humor, in ireland it is probs only acceptable if there is a ginger person with you who doesnt mind or thinks its funny and the tone of voice they said it in was not sarcastic at all. Sometimes even if they do laugh, gingers really take to heart what u say so please, think twice before you say anything that might be obviously offensive to a ginger, or someone from a different race or gender. sarcasm and jokes are fine but make sure you know the person well enough, and don't say it to someone you just met. what happened to "its what on the inside that counts"?
It's kind of ironic how the irish are so unaccepting about redheads. I am a redhead and this video really does disgust me about how redheaded people are treated in today's society. It's a hair colour for goodness sake!
During this time and throughout the 19th century, Britain occupied parts of Malaysia, home to the Red Ginger plant. Beautifully bright as a beacon, this fiery-headed plant caught the attention of many visitors to the country, and has been cited as one of the first instances of redheads being called 'Gingers'.
It blew me away how much people disliked gingers after watching this video. I always thought it was a small trend that started after South Park popularized it, not something people actually believe in real life. There's nothing wrong with gingers, and personally, I think they are great looking people especially the girls. Don't let these jerks rag your self esteem down. Your beautiful red hair is something to be proud of!
Yeah honestly it sucks growing up as a redhead especially when I was a child. I was the only red heading my school for years and it was weird. I got bullied a lot... I guess people just don't see bowling gingers as a problem because we don't really say anything because we know that you know there's nothing we can Do about it really.. We can dywle our hair but it's a part of us... That's a literally taking a part of us and who we are and just throwing it away.
+AlternateSoph Lots of guys are obsessed with us over here! And I'm not really teased for it (unless it's friendly). Well, creepy gingers get picked on, but that's because they're creepy. I guess the ones with really bright orange hair aren't as favored either. But your shade is similar to my shade, so you're probably just fine for America!
+AlternateSoph dont get your hopes up, im an american and i have red hair. ive been turned down and outright discriminated against for my hair color more times than i can count. to be honest its left a pretty deep wound that has lasted into adulthood. its not everybody but the hate is still there.
love when once i start actually liking my hair and actually start to feel unique and good about myself, people like the ones in the video criticize you for a hair color and your mood goes from 100 to -5
That first group that said f them and to lock us in prison, why? We are good people mostly and why are we weird? As an Australian ginger I get lots of discrimination at school and hate it and always get called a ranga and it’s freaking horrible smh 🤦🏼♀️
lol yesterday one of my moms friends came up to me and was like ohhhhh you have such pretty hair! can i touch it? And its the same at school too. and then a while ago a girl i havent seen in a while said did you put dye in your hair and so did one of my teachers and i was like no
I like gingers. I love the fact that there's ginger conventions -- I mean how funny/great is that! Imagine going there with your ginger boyfriend/girlfriend and losing them in the crowd. The horror lol. But yeah, I think the colour is beautiful, especially the darker amber kind of colour.
It's good for these people to avoid gingers because your genes are recessive to black hair but dominant to blondes and brunettes and is a blessing. You guys need to populate even further.
literally no joke started crying. people are rude af. don't understand what it's like to be in year 11 at school and still get bullied cause of your hair colour. like it's really stupid that hair colour actually changes peoples opinion on you.
I feel bad for contributing in making fun of gingers. about a month ago my uncle from my father's side told me my grandfather was a ginger. Epic slap in the face.
This really offended me, redheads do have souls, everyone has a soul otherwise we wouldn't be alive if we didn't. Everyone with red hair that I know are literally the coolest people that I know.
i kind of believe what some people used to say about redheads being vampires because im a redhead and i have sharp teeth bite marks on my ankle and sunlight litteraly i cant stand it i can bearly see in the light and see pretty well in the dark though
gyn 123 I felt the same way at your age, please believe me it gets soooo much better. I promise you a day is coming when you will love your red hair. I promise!
Hi, I'm a middle aged man with red hair, and remember all the school yard fights with nobody there to back me up. I started fitness training and taking martial arts many years ago, and it made me a better person. I'm not sure if this sort of thing would suit your temperaments, but I recommend giving it a try. Is there a good dojo in your community?
