There are other Rugby League youtubers who do topics like this but don't have the same equipment or money like this guy has. You look at Nick From Australia or Rugby League History, they only have their phones or a cheap laptop to film videos on, sometimes you just have to work with what you got.

Great video, I've watched a few and quietly wondered if a storm video would happen - happy to see it I remember exactly where I was when that news broke.....in Hobart for a work conference, sitting in a hotel room - and that press conference happened....I'm a Storm fan from the start and felt sick in the stomach from what I was watching. As the punishments were being listed, while none of them were good to hear, the last one hurt the most. The team I watch and cheer on every week without fail since 98 is playing for nothing all year....no points, no hopes of finals or redemption....nothing. I've got lots of favourite moments, games, players, victories over the years - but never felt more pride in the team that I support than I did in 2010 (but I'm jumping ahead now.....I look forward to a happy part two)

Glenn Lazarus was a great player x He’s the first player to win 3 grand finals with 3 different states (Canberra Brisbane and Melbourne) and I think he’s the only player to do so

The thing that still pisses me off to this day is David gallop saying he came to talk to the players about it all when the truth is he didn’t go talk to them until 9 months later in the year I agreed with every single punishment but making them play for nothing was mean ...make play with negative point or something but making them literally play for nothing so sad and mean

I am an Eels fan and the 09 grand final was one of the best especially our run into the finals, we couldn't have done it without Hayne and Hayne is the reason why I supported the Eels and why he was my idol, role model growing up it did hurt losing but the Storm were just too good 💙💛💙💛

I whole heartedly support the Melbourne Storm and do not accept the sanction that were handed down to them in 2010. The Storm did not cheat, they trained players that had grown up from within their ranks, they didn't go out and purposefully buy established players and give them money under the table; they themselves established these players and turned them into who they are today. At most, they could have taken away 1 premiership, but 2? And 3 minor premierships? Appalling.

If clubs develop their own players to superstars,they should be allowed to pay more and over the salary cap for those players,not developed them to stardom and other clubs try to pinched them.The Storm don’t buy super star,they buy young unknown and others reject and developed them to stardom!

That’s the argument then those players were mostly developed from their clubs juniors. Secondly that club is a artificial construct from Super League Era. Thirdly how does a infancy club finish so high in the NRL criterion. They are nothing more than chests and are a nothing club. They will never compare to clubs like the Roosters, Sea Eagles or even Rabbitohs. Where they built their clubs from nothing and have an unmatched legacy. I want the Storm to continue in Rugby League but have the following phrase written in the back. “A club that was given birth by men who destroyed the fabric of the game. Born to cheat” They should be rebranded to take on the logo of a forgotten foundation team Newtown Jets. If they don’t like it then they are removed and their whole history erased with all John Ribot.

If you hate the storm then let me point out something that you're obviously not smart enough to figure out for yourself...... the storm have benefited and to this day still are benefitting from cheating the salary cap.... at the end of the day they still had 3 of the best players in their team in 2011 and they signed (and have continued to sign) real solid players who get paid a lot less than they could at other clubs... because they know they have a fantastic chance at winning a grand final at the storm. They are cheating scum and the salary cap rorting days will not truly be gone until they go through a bad period where they dont make the finals for a few years in a row.

I'll always say as a storm fan the heads of the club had fucked over the players and their tarnished some of their names that's for sure, but I agree with their premiership being stripped. They are still a strong well put team. I'm glad to see the club learnt from its past.

For real reconciliation to occur and the legacy of Super League be dead and buried. NRL should tell Melbourne Storm as of tomorrow you are to be rebranded Melbourne Tigers. Wests Tigers merger will be dismantled. All colours, club logo and Balmain Tigers song, history & rest is to be taken. Magpies will be relocated as the new Perth franchise as Wests Magpies. Reason Tigers is to be formed is the AFL already has a club with the same logo & club colours playing.

The story of the storm is interesting. The years of cheating is what helped them become a strong team for the future years. Securing a strong spine for such a long time in the early years. It's the difference between new teams who don't cheat and do.

whatever people want to say about the Storm and the salary cap breaches, every talking head on TV at the time believed that the scandal would be the of team on Melbourne... in the 10 years since, the Storm have won 3 premierships, a couple minor premierships, a couple more GF appearances and played finals each year... well done

How do you know it wasn't done on purpose so no one would ever think they would do it again ? 😂 Because really yeah they got those Premierships stripped but everyone still knows who won them,and as I have mentioned that there isn't a single year where Storm and Roosters aren't power houses ? All the other Clubs actually have large Junior Catchments So that tells the story. The NRL has been shit since the War. Those Teams always have to be Strong for TV ratings and for who owns them It's ordinary there should be a Draft !

What a load of nonsense. Every team has deals with sponsors making payments on the side, it's the culture of the sport. Anyone with even a remotely small amount of knowledge of the game knows this.

It blows my mind that more people dont understand this.... since 2011 the storm have signed so many good players for a lot less than they could get elsewhere because they KNOW they are always gonna be a great chance at winning a grand final there...... because of what was built on by cheating the salary cap. To this day any success the storm has is illegitimate and will be for a long time

I think this video glosses over a lot of things. Melbourne since coming in 1998 have always had a stacked team, filled with representative players, and the likes of four future immortals. They have never had a downturn yet, you look at other teams who had similar players or eras, eventually it has ended, for some reason it hasn't ended at Melbourne yet but it's easy to be at the top every year when you have said rosters. If Wests Tigers had all these players plus Smith, Slater, Cronk, Inglis, they would be up the top every year, it's got nothing to do with Melbourne as an organisation I feel. Despite all their success, Melbourne are pretty much unknown in their own city, I have been to Melbourne a few times and it's just AFL constantly, they never get a mention. The second video how it talks about rebuilding the reputation, Melbourne had a poor reputation before the salary cap scandal, after the salary cap scandal it has gotten worse. Whenever they do polls on most hated NRL teams, Melbourne are always top. Melbourne fans will say "It's because we are successful or people are jealous". I don't see that as the reason.

"A stacked team since coming in 1998" ???? Really? The team was almost entirely made up of players from disbanded clubs, yes they got to have their choice of the best ones for the most part....but those players weren't wanted before finding homes at the expansion clubs. Yes most became club legends, and quite a few were considered top players at various points - but you make it sound like Melbourne were handed all the best players and had a premiership gift wrapped and waiting....and that's not how it went. If you put those four players mentioned in any team they'd definitely make a huge difference - but their overall successes had nothing to do with Melbourne's recruitment, development, coaching staff or anything else, right? Yes, it's well established they were eventually paying them over the cap - but again, they didn't just take the best players available and throw money at them (and ultimately, only one of the four left the club at the time) You're allowed to hate a team, but everything you've said is either wrong or misguided - hate them because some vapid twit in a suit decided it was a good idea to cheat, hate them because of their success before and after it - that's fine....but don't talk rubbish, like 'unknown in Melbourne' - Storm players would receive better receptions on the AFL footy show than the NRL version, though AFL will obviously always be the preferred code. As for that last bit, if you support any club other than the Roosters or the Storm and aren't just a little bit jealous - you're lying.

Loxxov Voxxol In Melbourne's first two seasons, their initial sides were made up of players who had already played State of Origin or for Australia/PNG/NZ or were on the cusp of it, and pretty much ever since then they have had stacked teams, they've never really had an ordinary team or a team that has the one main player who is a freak and the others are somewhat mediocre. I've been to Melbourne several times, the last time I went I said to myself "I am going to go out of my way to find Melbourne news, merchandise etc". I was in the city centre for a week and the inner city and I think I saw one lad get off a tram with Melbourne training shorts on and there was a clothing shop on Elizabeth street that had a small rack of clothes with Melbourne on it. I bought the newspaper everyday, nothing, watched the news every night, nothing. Mind you this was middle of the season and Melbourne were first in the NRL that year. Melbourne fans like to play down this sort of thing but I am not making it up.

Both at the tail end of their careers....and a couple more that played Origin in Super League the year prior.....yep, totally stacked! I don't know how you think the Storm were stacked then, or why you'd whine about them being stacked in more recent years - aside from the fact it seems like you're a Tigers fan....feverishly bitter about the sheer amount of potential talent your club has allowed to walk away, and that they haven't been remotely close to being relevant when it comes to winning premierships for over 15 years. I suppose you thought Harry Grant was going to stay there too. As for media in Melbourne, prior to last year I travelled there regularly - and you're right, the Storm don't get a fair amount of coverage...that's not the same as being unknown. Yes, it's not Sydney, yes they can walk in the city without being harassed at every corner...but they are also consistently top three in terms of club membership numbers and at least top 5 for home crowd averages.

Pointed out what the residual Super League management agenda. To infiltrate the AFL market. The reason Storm is never accepted or will be accepted by wider AFL market is simply what Storm stand for. Those Residual Super League bosses thought was everyone was a sell out, cheat & most of all crook like them. All they had to do is keep them winning at any level and they will follow a winner. They met the most loyal, traditionalist, focused & die-hard fans ever in AFL. They hate what that team stands for and NRL can do it’s lame effort to punish Storm for breaches and offences to make it appear Storm don’t have favouritism or nepotism to boot. But they can see through this feeble attempt or process. Melbourne fans would’ve been better embracing of 2 x foundation clubs of NSWRL from 1908 in Balmain Tigers & Western Suburbs Magpies. Both teams have respective teams who play in AFL in Victoria in Richmond Tigers & Collingwood Magpies. Yes at the beginning their would’ve been resentment or reservation, but if they were educated of the plight of both foundation & living historical clubs. AFL supporters would’ve grown into accepting and embracing those two Rugby League Teams. They should never have merged.
