Honestly, I’d love for Henry Cavill to play a Bond villain. Just give him the scar and he’s pretty much the Bond from the novels. It would be a great foil for the new Bond actor just on a visual basis. Also, he was amazing to watch in M:I-Fallout.
Agree, he clearly loves the series and wants to be part of it. He could be like Sean Bean's character in Goldeneye - a 00 agent turned bad. But maybe that's too similar to Mission Impossible...
I think people are thinking about stars they want to see like James Bond, but the James Bond movies have always turned their lead actors into stars. My proposal for EON Productions of the new secret agent James Bond 007, is the English actor and model Oliver Jackson Cohen of 36 years of age, of 1.91 meters and of 75 kilograms of weight. Another possible option is Aaron Taylor Johnson, British actor, producer. Its height is 1.80 meters and weight 91 kilograms.
Before I was wondering why the Superman actor would become James Bond, but after looking at 20 choices from diffrent actors who could become James Bond. I came in the conclusion that Henry Cavil is the best choice easily being smooth in right age and ready to do action stunts in movies. In my opinion Idris Elba could make good villian, when his so old and not that great looking or Chillian Murphy could also make great James Bond villian, when he isent that good looking either, but would make intelligent villian.
Great idea! Love the Pentex angle of another X-00 being a bad guy. It'll be a reboot so totally acceptable in the story. Especially if you give him a scar to harken back to the OG 006.
They were known for those roles, but neither show had a wide global audience. Neither actor was a household name until they became Bond (Moore arguably was in the UK, but not internationally). Neither of them was anywhere near as famous as someone like Idris Elba or Henry Cavill is now.
You’re nuts! He could never ever be jame snobs mate! That role or that character is just not for him mate! You’re very silly if you think that! Lol!! 😂
A reboot for Bond is actually what the franchise thrives on. Casino Royale was a really great story of how Bond came to be. I'd love to see more 00's featured, such as 008/009 as field ops/back up support for Bond.
@@thesoundofbailey This! Exactly. I've been saying that since EON announced they were rebooting the franchise. I wanted Henry in a 60's reboot of Bond well before they announced Craig. The Man from UNCLE years later was my proof of concept.
On the American point, don't forget James Brolin almost became Bond until EON brought back Moore for Octopussy to compete with Connery returning in Never Say Never Again. EDIT: I originally wrote Josh Brolin - whoops.
Finally! Thanks for addressing the star-status of new Bond's actor in point 5 & 6. I was starting to think I was the only one not wanting a Cavill or a Hardy being the next Bond! I hope he's somebody unknown to most people in the world too. Damien Molony? Jack Laskey? Jack Huston? Don't care, pick one. I also hope the same will apply to the next Bond girl (although I'm okay with some famous and legendary bombshells making appearances - like they did with Ana the Armas or Monica Bellucci), some new faces will only benefit us. Also, just make three movies. The pyramid must be completed.
@@DailyLifeSolution Exactly. His time has come and gone. The next Bond should be Thor's little brother. Liam? You see, perfect, I like the guy and he's not famous enough for me to remember his name...yet.
@@OptimusMonk01 Barbara and her brother. Totally broke with every single tradition their father created for Bond. Made it just another action movie. Jason Bourne with a British accent. Complete crap.
Race-swapping Bond is just stupid. Just like you mentioned in your video: Craig said that there should be equally good parts for others hence female and poc actors. There's plenty of background for Bond to consider him being white caucasian, the thing that movie Bond isn't exactly the same as what Fleming envisioned doesn't mean that you should be fine when they bastardize him with race-swapping. It would be better if you respect the Fleming's vision, it doesn't matter that they look different (at least Craig looks the most different from the other Bonds), every Bond would be still a lot closer to the source material and the way of how the character was established than any other race-swapped version of Bond. And the fact that the times change doesn't mean that Bond should be poc, UK is still statistically predominantly white country (87%). If you care so much about representation, statistically out of the presumably 9 licences to kill (''00s'') only one shoud be a poc and nothing points that Bond should be the one, you can even use his licence like they did it in NTtD, but James Bond (as a character) should stay as he is. It's fairly simple - don't race swap him, create new, unique and original characters that could be whatever you want them to be, leave Bond be as he is. :)
I'm starting to doubt there will ever be another Bond. It's a few years since Craig announced he was stepping down. Plenty of time to cast his replacement, but we're still having this same old discussion. I think the producers have given up but don't want to tell us.
The producers were probably smart enough to wait long enough for the woke shit to implode & blow over so they won't be forced to hire a trans non-white loser who will bad-mouth & destroy Bond before it's even released (like a certain woke shit actress hired to play snow white.)
A crazy suggestion, but one that might have an interesting twist. Cast Luke Treadaway as Bond. Not a well known actor (despite having a decent role in the Clash of the Titans and was lead in the movie a Street Cat Named Bob) The twist here is that Luke has an identical twin brother called Harry who is also an actor and had a decent role the Johnny Depp Lone Ranger Movie and season 1 of Picard. A perfect Bond and his evil brother story literally writes itself from there...
@@lardonirdesco My "Specter" PTSD may be clouding my judgement, but any way the problem with that evil brother story wasn't that Bond and Blofeld weren't biologically related or identical. Sure, we have had good "Bond, but evil" villains in "The Man With the Golden Gun", "License to Kill", "Goldeneye" or even "Skyfall", but having an adoptive or biological brother will at least at first taste seem like a silly soap opera evil twin idea. Unless it is VERY well written in which case we'll get over it quickly. Still, in theory it is an inherently campy if interesting idea.
@@vitorafmonteiro agreed, my approach to it would be the evil twin assuming the role of the good twin and ruining his reputation. You can then do a fight to prove innocence leading to a confrontation and an eventual reconciling to fight a bigger foe. Campy yes but there's at least two movies worth of plot right there.
I know it is an outside chance, but I don't know why but Tom Hiddleston I think would be rather interesting. Even though he would also be a good villain
It’s so gratifying I’m not the only one on about the pyramid 😭👏 I’d love a solid trilogy set in the ‘50s as per the original. Advertisement is possible for companies still around, and they’d be able to use their long histories as a flex in the ad campaigns. It’ll never happen, but I can dream.
The producers have said they might wait until they have the story mapped out and maybe director hired first so they have a good idea of what they want to do with the character, and cast accordingly. That's what they did with Casino Royale - director came on board months before Craig was cast. So it may be a while.
@@PentexProductions Okay cool. I've been wanted to do the audition for the role for a while now. I've been searching high and low but now I know it's going to take a while. Cheers for your message dude. Feel free to take a look at my channel/showreel.
My out-there casting for a young gentleman of colour is Kedar Williams-Sterling, best known for playing Jackson on Sex Education. He’s 29 as of writing, and extremely good looking and charismatic but also played his character’s deep-seated trauma very well. He’s one of the Sex Ed stars who sadly hasn’t made a huge career leap since (compared to Ncuti Gatwa or Emma Mackey) so if they’re really open to having a Black actor play Bond he’s the total package.
Completely agree; fantastic actor but terribly unsuited for Bond. A tiny part of me does really want to see the alternate timeline that had an Adam West Bond though!
@@PentexProductions that would’ve been hilarious too actually but do you think it would’ve been actually good or interesting? I don’t know that I can imagine him as like a slick cultured secret agent much less a British one lol. Although the man I would’ve liked to see more than anyone would be Harrison Ford. He couldn’t have pulled off the Britishness either though
By definition anyone who can meet the criterion of being British is an acceptable choice, and there are actually quite a few brown people in that group. Scary, I'm sure.
100% agree, Bond is not modern, during the 60s he was a relic of WW2 in the 90s he was a relic of the cold war. He will always be a part of the past, any other ethnicity would make him modern.
Took awhile for you to get around to it, but at 8:00 you finally came up with the one, central, salient point that makes this whole speculation game absolutely pointless for everyone: no name that I could possibly come up with, or recognize, or have any conceivable reality-based opinion about is even a remote possibility, so might as well ignore all the click-bait speculation and just passively wait for the white smoke to come out of the chimney at Chez Broccoli. (BTW, the absolute same applies to Doctor Who, but at least in that case I suspect that deep in their hearts most American fans never really expected to know who the F Ncuti Gutwa was.)
Whoever they pick, I hope he has the inclination to portray a man who loves his cosen profession rather than a sad depressing self-hater like Craig was in his last four films. And that the producers will allow that to happen. Nobody needs "chronic depression" James Bond.
I saw something on a video about Bond a little while ago that the different iterations of him are like dark chocolate and white. Meaning you get a gritty series of Bond films played by Sean Connory then the more lighthearted ones from Roger Moore. A couple of slightly more gritty ones from Tim then back to the more lighthearted Piers era before the crap we got during the Craig era.
When I saw Theo James' action scenes in the Divergent movies I immediately thought that he looked like a Bond in waiting. He's about the right age (38) and even though he himself dismisses the idea, I think he would be an excellent choice.
As for a "Female James Bond" the Flemingverse is pretty big. Lots of criminals, organizations and weirdos running around. I'd love to see Bond adjacent films/series be made, so that there can be thematic links between OO7 films. Having a villain or SPECTRE established in a (female, lets say) OO5 movie, or a series about lower ranking agents (Think Oceans Eleven or Leverage) would be a good way to tie things together and get people to keep THINKING about Bond, even if he doesn't show up or in a small cameo. It would also establish that Bond is part of a team. That he has certain skills that make HIM perfectly suited for some missions that say, OO2 or OO4 would be assigned to others.
I always imagined a "Bond Cinematic Universe": -A prequel series focusing on a youg version ov Judi Dechs M, giving us a classic cold war spy thriller, with a female lead working her way through a mysoginistic establishment -A Felix Leiter spinoff series: more bombastic Michael Bay or Mission Impossible style action, and big battles were the Marines get sent in -A TV series focusing on Q, Moeypenny etc at MI6 headquarters: more of a comedy focus, with analysts etc doing the actual work and then the arrogant 00 agents swooping in at the end, breaking everything and getting all the glory
I think Idris Elba would make a great Charlie Chan, the Chinese detective. As well, I think the Chinese people would welcome him and rush to the theaters in support!
@@JS-rm2ws LOL...Fleming described Bond as being from Scottish and Swiss parents. Is that a ''loose'' description....lol? BTW, why don't people like you talk down to the Chinese people about their lack black roles in Chinese movies? Yeah, or the lack of roles for blacks in Indian movies or why there aren't more blacks in Mexican/Latino movies and TV shows...lol?
@@francisdashwood1760 Oh Yes, because Scottish and Swiss people can’t be any other ethnicity than white… It’s like you completely overheard the objectively true point in this video that ethnicity and nationality aren’t the same thing.

I'd say Brosanan was probably one of the most well known actors before becoming Bond especially considering he had already been picked as Bond once and then let go.

Rege-Jean Page. He’s British, devastatingly handsome, and currently 36 so he could theoretically get 3 films in before aging out. Also far enough out from Bridgerton to not be obviously the Duke of Hastings (great call on his part to not take part in season 2).
@@esotericsage6914 yeah I'm not feeling that one. I'd have to look into that a bit before giving a final word though, in the interest of fairness. You're probably right about Henry being too well known. Bond needs to be played by someone that you don't automatically know who they are. Helps to suspend the disbelief of it all.
I think the issue with skin colours is sort of a product of people who most vocally push for a non-white Bond also being the same bunch who see Britain as an uniquely-evil empire and consequently won't tolerate the prospect of their ideal Bond having any positive connection with Britain. Without that ideological baggage, a non-white James Bond would have been far less of an issue, if at all.
The British empire was evil, uniquely evil though? Probably not, the Bengal famine and King Leopold's genocide of the Congo are both equally disgusting yet were committed by different empires, though the reason why the British empire ceased to exist wasn't because of the British government changing with the times, but due to oppressed peoples in continents like Africa rising up and fighting for their national sovereignty, the British government openly supported the fascist white supremacist government of South Africa for instance, and those same people who argued that Nelson Mandela was a despicable terrorist now sing his praises now that they know their support of a racist regime is untenable.
Alright using your guide the only person I can think of is Robert Sheehan, fits age, born in Ireland, i don't think he's too well known, i could be wrong. Personally I think he is a great actor
If the casting will be an actor we've never heard of or known for something else then what do you make of the rumor of Aaron Taylor-Johnson "secretly" being the top dog? Just a ploy to throw us off the trail?
What about having a realitycontest where viewers can vote for the one they think is best ? And everyone must be without acting experience just like Lasenby and Connery. Personaliy i think "Sam Caflin"would be best for the part. But the francise need to be renewed ? Perhaps with some kind of time travels ?
I don't know about the whole time travel angle, but Sam is definitely not a bad pick. Thanks for bringing him to my attention. I will have to watch one of his movies.
"It doesn't affect the performance or story" but it *does* indicate priorities which is upstream of both. I rejected James Blonde partly because while he *is* a power fantasy, Bond is also an "everyman". Dark, straight hair, tanned skin, able to blend into any crowd from the British Isles to the beaches of South America to markets of East Asia. A touch of makeup has him blending into a dozen ethnicities at a distance. It's also why Bond can't be a redhead.
as i've seen an appearance of Aidan Turner in one interview and I think he has the look in his eyes, a deadly look. Except he is only 5'10, pretty small in 007 standards but he is still young though. He is relatively unknown as this video showed was one of the requirement. But if he is really a hetero-sexual male which is also one requirement, I don't know. Of course we can't cast a gay James Bond, don't ask why, because it's a no brainer. So the name is Turner, Aidan Turner.
I dont agree with this video because the only actor who ticked all the boxes for the ideal Bond was actually never chosen Lewis Collins (RIP) he should have been James Bond between 1982-87
The Brits have amazing actors. I am sure they will figure things out eventually. The last film series to really use up a lot of the best of them was the Harry Potter movies. They are ripe for the plucking.
While they could pick an attractive British black actor as Bond, I think most fans are expecting an attractive British white male actor to take over to keep the franchise consistent in nature. Look what happened to fans embracing Dr. Who as a white woman or as a black actor. The fan reaction was not so well taken and viewers of the series dropped. All the characters around Bond could be any race or gender for M or Q or the spy women but most fans expect Bond to be white male, attractive, fit to do some of the stunts, and British or British adjacent. The studio could add female or black actors as new spy additions as agent 008 or 009 as regular cast. Bond 007 and 008 could be a duo formula.
What about having a realitycontest where viewers can vote for the one they think is best ? And everyone must be without acting experience just like Lasenby and Connery. Never liked Craig as Bond the just picked him because he was the cheaper option. I just pretend his movies never existed he is just a Jason Bourne wanna be, also never liked the treatment of his movies to the character, the casting of secondary characters was just awful. Henry Cavill must be Bond he was great at The Man From Uncle he was so 007 in that film.
Me changes I think nowadays they can choose an actor who is already famous that's my point of view maybe I'm wrong because I see henry cavill as the next Bond and nobody else
But here's the irony : the world definitely does NOT need a new cinematic Bond. What it really needs is an ACTUAL real-life Bond, to protect the Western Hemisphere from the evil globalists. And I'm not even kidding. And by the way, I could be wrong but I thought the Bond character was originally written as being of Scottish origin, by Fleming.
I will disagree on you about James Bond actor being barely know to fit the role. Henry Cavill was super close to getting the role, he was basically the next James Bond, but Daniel got it at the end.
Of course, the next Bond can be of any sexuality imaginable. I've become a passionate fan of your videos over the last few hours and the codification of gender roles is the first premise that I would like to wholeheartedly disagree with. Bond is not a “male power fantasy.” He is a working class power fantasy. A man without networks, without noble origins, who moves effortlessly in the world of the rich and powerful and throws it out of control. In a way, nothing could embody this dynamic better in this day and age than a Bond character who is not born with power. Ideally, this new Bond will seduce targets of any gender. Just like the KGB's actual Romeo agents did. If he or she or they even have fun while doing it, all the better.
