This is the largest free kitchen in the world. Open 24 hours, year round, this food hall feeds 100,000 people for free each day. And on religious holidays that number can double.
Just one of these huge bowls is enough to feed around 10,000 people.
We visited Amritsar in India to find out everything that goes into feeding such a large crowd, and to see just what it takes to make such Big Batches.

@@konstantinhochhaus3125 One of the first rules laid down by the first Guru of Sikhism was to earn an honest living. So the fact that the individuals u worked with did what they did means that they weren't upholding one of the basic values needed to be a Sikh. They may be calling themselves Sikhs but rests assured, their own god does not recognise them as such if they rob people of their money. Sorry to hear that though, it disheartens me when people like that tarnish the name of Sikhi for their own gain. We were made to be a force for good that protects the innocent, not exploit them.

I lived in an area with a large Sikh community. Every year they would hold a huge religious festival and feed the surrounding community. Everything was free. Something else to note: This is in the state of Punjab which is a Sikh majority state and while the Golden Temple feeds such a large number of people, it is isn’t the only one. You could walk into ANY gurdwara and you can expect food and shelter regardless of your race, creed, caste, gender or any other socioeconomic characteristics. Even in Western nations, if you ever find yourself hungry with no means to eat, just find the nearest Gurdwara and you’ll be fed.

as kuran says about god,as bible says about god( yehova),same way sikh holy book sri guru granth sahib ji says about god only and if someone gets time to read it then one should surely download and read it,its about god only and second thing there is abundance of food in gods home and food never gets short here since hundreds of years. Earth is very big and thats why god reached on whole earth to help people in form of different religions, god cant love just particular people and not others. He created many religions to reach, cover whole earth, one religion was not enough to help whole earth. God reached whole earth every time, and whoever was good and wherever on earth he/she was, when remembered god he reached and helped him/her. God loves whole earth and reached to people of all nations, god doesnt love a single country only and is found in any single country only and in any single religion only.

My uncle and his family were Sikh. We would join in their traditions when they visited a few times a year. They always made great food, the whole family loved it. I can still smell and taste the tea my aunt would make in a big pot on the stove. They called it yogi tea, it had cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and a bunch of other things. Really delicious. And she'd make this potato dish with lots of fresh ginger in it that was out of this world, couldn't get enough of it. When we were younger, they'd wrap our heads in turbans just for fun. It was great in the winter, they really keep your head warm on a freezing cold central NY winter day. Super comfortable too!

I have lived 6 years in pujab, india. I have enjoyed the langar so much there, so fresh, aromatic, just right amount of spices, literally tastes like god's food. Oh and that almond milk in the end is the game changer, creamy hot milk, sometimes topped with saffron sometimes not, such a pleasant experience given by the volenteers/devotees.

And no Church works 24 hours providing food for people.

@@alwaysbored47 leaving several comments doesn't mean I'm "here to be noticed" that's called you being triggered. Keep projecting your desire for attention on to me. They do things on a larger scale because of the much higher poverty levels in india, a much larger number of people rely on that "free" food or they'd starve. What sikhism hasn't done however is found the ideological basis of western nations which has grown the middle class to a level where most citizens don't have to rely on communal food supplies to survive.
