Bug-A-Salt is a $40 "gun" that uses table salt to kill (or stun) flies. Because it uses salt the product is safe to use around food and doesn't leave behind a mess. According to Bug-A-Salt's inventor, Lorenzo Maggiore, “that’s another thing that’s beautiful about it, it leaves them whole.”

China doesn't take lightly to stuff that gives people the thrills of shooting something... Even if they did make it, it would get banned in China because it would incite 'rebellious thoughts'. But CCP overlooks these things as toys, until someone points it out to them. For instance someone in china weaponize them for use in protests (China hates demonstrations of any kinds).

These things work great. Have had ours for about 3 years and it is still going strong. Hardly a day goes by without someone yelling "where is the salt gun". I have taken housefly's out of the air with it and it does not leave smudges on the wall when you have to get rid of a pesky moth. Have to admit it is kind of fun as well.

This isn't a new concept at all, farmers here in south africa have been using salt or sugar in their rifles like the .22 lr to kill flies or spiders for years. Still cool to see some one made so much money out of it tho
