Waxing Is not necessary. Coatings are designed as a superior protection that last much longer! Because of that the chemistry is different. That's why you don't reccomend waxing a coated car. Their are products that are specifically made to use on a coated vehicle to enhance and extend the life of a coated car. Their chemical components are similar to the coating. I am a certified coating applicator. I've studied and applied sealants and coatings for years. I agree with a lot of your comments. But I do take issue with this one. Putting a wax on top of an exspensive coating devalues the coating!
Top 3 tips: 1. Longevity of clear coat and paint of vehicle. Locking in the shine of clear coat and shine. 2. Protection. Keeping all of the dirt and erosion of the vehicle. Bird poop or other dirt will not damage the car. 3. Ease of cleaning, stay clean for longer and looks fantastic.
hello Jim I thought coating were suppose to be installed in a CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT as in indoors, I believe some manufacturers who only CERTIFY if in a brick and mortar and not MOBILE. Can you list those that support mobile services.

Bugs are same as bird poop (so to speak) they they destroy clear coat. If you live in a area plagued with bugs, selling point. In Florida we have Love Bugs which eats the paint to the bare metal or whatever. Coatings help prevent that. All bugs will do this due to the digestive acids.
Here's my simple break down of it. Average paint protection cost, for a sedan is 4k-5k Average cost for a ceramic coating is 500-1500. Yes the paint protection, protects from scratching, but cost is far higher. With a budget of 1000 you wouldn't get much of your car coverd in ppf. Probably just the a portion of the front clip, to protect from rock chips on the highway.

I blame Ceramic Pro entirely for the huge amount of misleading info that was going around when you made this video. They framed it as something you need a certification to install, and then rolled out their “wax is dead” campaign. They cornered the market early and fucked it up.
Jimbo your all over the place. In another vid you have said you don’t do ceramic coating. The reason you gave is because your not interested in polishing to perfection. Also ceramic coating has to cure for 24hr(w/out IR lamps) and if it starts drizzle that can cause issues.
the problem with selling coatings is when they hear the price point. Even at $499 its like "are you kidding me? thats too much." how do we get them over that obstacle
I always use the example of a 3 year coating, your suppose to wax your car 2-3x a year (150x3=$450, 450x3=$1350), in the long run you are saving money and not have to worry about being on top of taking care of your car every 3-6 months. Along with polishing it you wont need to until the coating is wore off and compared with waxes it is more susceptible to spiderwebbing and can dull out the finish and have to get it polished every year that could be an extra 1500 by the end of the 3 years. So you can either pay 2800-3000$ or $1000-1500 (depending on the coating) for a coating. This is why I like to have a clipboard and blank paper when I show this because they can see visually what price diffrence is. Yes waxes is more money twords you in the end but if you think about it. Are they going to go to you EVERY time? Theres always someone cheaper out there and might not go to you every time or just that one time
I have been a professional Detailer for 20 years now my family started are detailing business in 1989 and the truth is ceramic coating's is way over hyped a good year long sealant once a year is all you need you got to get ya car detailed within a year anyway so this is the truth ceramic coating's is all hype check it out everything has ceramic this and that it's all hype not saying they don't work they are just completely over hyped.
