When I added a £1,000 Roksan K3 power amp to a £2,000 Denon 6500 AVR, let's just say I wasn't impressed. However, when I added a matching power amp to my arcam avr20, I almost immediately became aware of the snap of the snare drums plus surprisingly how much more control I had at lesser volumes. What I took from this experience... unless the AVR's components are up to it, unless the speakers/room demand it, they're not worth boosting.
Hi. I have low-profile speakers I'm using for my hight, front left and right 7.2.4 setups. But they are much quieter than my other speakers. I've already maxed out the volume on my receivers option. Would it be a problem to get an amplifier to power only the much quieter speakers and bring the volume up to match the other speaker?
@@MadAudiofficial Yes, my receiver has that option. when its run, it bring down the volume of all my other louder speakers. At this point, on average, to hear anything clearly the volume is set at 60%-80%. I would assume my receiver is working harder at this point to push my speakers that are not as loud.
I would like to use an external integrated amp to support the front channels only, is it ok? I now have the Cinema40 and think maybe I can connect my Naim integrated to allow 11 channels on the Cinema40 if it supports the front stereo or front three speakers, what do you think? Will / How does the system know I only want to use the power within the external integrated amp? 🤔
Yes is possible but if the integrated amp doesn’t have any HT bypass input you will have to crank up the volume at maximum before the calibration and remember to take the volume down if you’re using the same integrated for HiFi stereo!
