Mine (Z320R) was needing quite a bit of adjustments (just got it two days ago) But other than some adjustments this thing is great! Highly recommend this zero turn!

How about if the motors on a brand new machine are so different that the mower veers left quite a bit before you hit the stops? I’m other words, my right side seems much faster than the left. Adjusting these stop bolts will help me set full throttle to be straight, but my left hand is always going to be quite a bit ahead of my right hand because my left motor is going slower than the right at all speeds. Is there a way to adjust this setting on the motors? My last ZTR was pretty much even between my two hands and it went approximately straight. Thanks!

What about when one side stops working...no drive? It will run for about 45 min then it has to sit for about 30 min to get drive back.

Just Bought a Z530M ...had a 535 before...the arms and parking brake on the new one are TIGHT compared to my mower before...should I expect these to loosen over time, or is there an adjustment

They should loosen up over time. It is normal for them to be a bit tight at first.

Had to diagnose solenoid and starter...fumbled and learned it was solenoid. Went to cross jump the noid and do a quick mow as it was till i felt like making the trip into town for new solenoid but all of a sudden....left control arm completely unresponsive (was a lil sluggish prior before but would function ok, nothin major). So i watched this vid, found the adjustment bolts up front easy enough. Ratcheted left in increments to full range in and out....still nothing on left, just going in circles. Right side responsive reguardless so put back pack about where i started. Now stumped? Bad strut on left side control arm???? Help

It could be that the gas shock is bad or sometimes the linkages on the control arm headed back tot the transaxle comes unpinned. I would check out those linkages. May be a really simple fix.

Hi Brent, I just bought my first zero turn, the z315. I noticed when I apply the left brake it whines quite loudly. The right one is fine. I know it's covered under warranty however, loading it on my truck will be difficult. Is this an easy fix or should I take it back to the dealer. I'm pretty good repairing things. But have no experience with hydrostatic transmissions. Thank You! Bob

I would take it back and see if it just needs an adjustment or if they are worried there is something wrong with that motor. Better safe than sorry here.

Question ..what would be the problem if one side is weaker than the other . For example my left handle all the way forward works great full speed . Right hand side not so much and goes really slow ...

Hmmm. You may have an issue in that left hand transaxle. I would reach out to your local dealer and have them take a look.

I have the Z345R and have tried adjusting the bolts but one side seems out of adjustment or faster. Is there an adjustment underneath on the transaxle?

What could be my problem if when I’m going forward full speed, slow down to make a right turn it seems like it responds so slow. Like I pull the handle back and I gotta wait like 2s for it to finally turn.

That is a good question. Your response time should not be that slow. Is it only like this in the specific scenario you mentioned?

I hit a small stump that stopped it from advancing cold now the mower will not move forward but it will backwards on the left side the right is fine.... Z355r---Any ideas that may be a quick fix would help

Sometimes on a hard hit like this, you can jar loose your steering linkages. I would follow your steering level down to the linkages that go to the transaxle and see if anything is loose or disconnected.

That’s a good question but I don’t know that I have ever heard of reverse tracking. I will have to test that out.

OK. So I see this even if I am not at full throttle. I veer left. I had the adjustment bolt out and it still veers a good amount. Any suggestions?

Having trouble with my zero-turn. I'm not sure what happened, didn't hit anything. But the left lever is completely out. The right works fine. But I can't even get it to go forward. There's a grinding noise/vibration in the left handle that happens whenever I push it forward or back. It's just stuck in my field because I couldn't get it to do anything but go in circles. It's wild because I was mowing for hours just fine, it was giving me minor trouble going left but nothing I thought would be a big issue. Then it just went out entirely. Worried something broke. I assume this is something for the dealership?

Yes, I would have the dealership take a look. There are a few linkages that go from the lever to the transaxle that could have broke. I would have them take a look for sure.

Thanks. Very good presentation. I have a 355e. It's in need of a washing but concerned of getting wires and motor wet thus making it hard to crank. How do you recommend it. Perhaps leaving it running?

You should not have issues. Just don’t spend too much time spraying water directly on exposed wiring.

My Z530M is a bit weird as the levers are about 1” out from each other when tracking straight. Is there any other place to adjust or is there something more sinister happening?

The handles are adjustable. Simply loosen the bolts at the lower part of the handles, adjust handles until they are even with each other, and then retighten the bolts.

Just tighten the 13mm bolts holding them to the lower levers I did this and got mine about 1 inch apart like when I first bought. Just make sure u have the handles even

So this video is how to limit the maximum range of each lever. I need to know how to make my Z320R go straight when the levers are aligned. The only way to go straight is to have the left handle 1 - 2 inches behind the right lever.

The handles are adjustable. Simply loosen the bolts at the lower part of the handles, adjust the handles until they are even with each other, and then retighten the bolts.

Pointless article, only shows how to align handles, doesn't show how to increase or decrease tracking. Disappointed that I just bround and 8k mower and the dealership couldn't make sure it tracks straight with handle aligned. Poor design from john deere just have a bolt hitting the handle linkage on and angle and on thin metal to align the handle bars.
