Hi everyone, this is a video looking at the a cool mirror spray from rust-oleum I saw used online. I wondered what it would be like if I used this instead of white gold for an upcoming project and this is the result.
Despite it's ups and downs this project looks great!
Here is are some links to where you can support the channel:

any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hallo Lewis, i think you already know, just in case if not, you also can apply your stencil the "wet way". I use distilled water with a drop of dish liquid in it and pour it over the glass with a vaporizer. So you can still move your stencil and it don't sticks. With the squeege you move out the water on the edges and let i try a hour or so, that works pretty good. I also detect the thin side of the floatglass, the color sticks better on the non tin side.

A great point! You can certainly do that normally. I've had trouble with this particular stencil in the past with water. Definitely doable though normally! It's only very recently im hearing about glass having a better side for this. I know you can test with water but it's new to me!

Yeah that's true talent I've never worked on glass before that would be a challenge glad to see the materials to use and process 😄

Backing Paper 'Lift off' is generally caused by over-cutting the vinyl. Either reduce the force or wind the blade in a bit. ✌ Great Video 🙌

Hi jezz, you're quite right. That is generally the cause, but I suspect that this stencil mask roll was of older stock, as it stuck to the backer too much. Some areas were not well cut either, so I didn't have the option of lowering force. Thanks for the input though mate!

Perhaps adding some hardener to your black would have helped? The stuff from a rattle can is very hot, it has chemicals designed to make it flash off and dry really quickly. Also love me some Ronan 1stroke!

Thanks Philip! It probably would have, I currently don't have any so I've just been making do. Lots of stuff to restock but I've been putting it off 😅

7:42 If it can resist water, you could try a hot wet towel to soften up the glue in the backing paper, or maybe even (VERY CAREFULLY) use a heatgun.. Just an advice and I have NO idea if it works 😀 Cool little video and project my man!

I think the clear laquer dulls the mirror effect.

Hello, my idea is to use silver foil for the outstanding letters, which have to stay on the backside of the glass. Then I would have done the etching and at last the black painting. Maybe you have a good result with a mirror foil

Hiya, Yeah i would normally use white gold leaf for this, but wanted to try the mirror spray out. Mostly to see how it would work. It doesn't look too bad but certainly has room for improvement.

Cool video. I’d try some tests on glass with the number of coats and paint combinations . The mirror spray could be a bad influence on the Ronan. I have some king cole black and backup black which works great for reverse glass. Well played though. I use Rusto to roll a lot of my panels . I’ve had negative results with spray paint and especially aerosol clear coat when added to 1-shot and Ronan . I think that’s cause there’s a gassing off period that takes quite a while. Anyway keep it up. It’s always nice to see the process warts and all.

Does it work on plastic?

Sorry Mohammad, I have no idea. By all accounts it does get quite warm so I'm not sure acrylic would work.

The instructions say one coat at a time!

Thanks richie, It might be camera trickery, with the second making i gave 1 coat per time with 10 minutes of wait between coats. It's not entirely clear to see from watching though.
