OCI Checklist:

Important Steps:
1) Notarise Application form and parental Authorisation Form
2) Include Payment Receipt or money order or cashier check
3) Self attest all the document
4) self envelop or Money order for return Envelop (if not paying online)
if your paying online no need to send return labels .
if your paying through money order or chasier check then you have to send 2 self envelop or money order for return label, one is for passport and one for oci .

On declaration section should be empty or who needs to sign. refer the time stamp 9.23

Hi, it doesn’t sound correct to give child’s thump impression for declaration part( minor applicant part) kindly check. Because the declaration states “I am a parent of _________”. I feel the applying parent should sign there. Can you pls explain more about it. Thank you

Parents sign below applicants signature that.. because it says “ applicants signature “. So parents can’t sign in applicants signature

If I make online payment, do I still need to attach return label to return the passport. You mentioned VFS will take care of the package. Actually there are two items need to be shipped to us. (Passport & OCI). My confusion is, online payment is for returning the passport or OCI?

It’s for oci , for getting ur passport you have send return label or 15$ money order

@@SujaPrakash Thanks for the quick reply. The checklist is bit confusing. It says to provide 2 photos and on a separate note, they ask us to affix the photo on the application for. So, i m not sure if its 2 or 3. I have got only 2 copies and not able to get the 3rd copy as i got them 3 months ago and dont have a soft copy. Plz suggest

2 copies should be fine.. if you don’t have digital print I would suggest to take fresh

With ckgs, we need to use right thumb impression for female minor. Where as, vfs says left for both.Is it correct?

Oci doesn’t have expiry date.. yes you can apply from Indian,

If his passport is expired and got new passport, then gov India has extended the time line till June 2021, that you can travel with old oci with new + old passport .. hope this helps

Relationship certificate is for spouse related oci .. not for minor child I guess.
