Ann, you are amazing. Absolutely amazing. I’m in the process of applying to Yale Arch graduate school, and I feel like you’re guiding me (with you incredible communication skills and engaging humor) through the otherwise daunting process. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This is by far one of the most insightful, useful, well put together informational channels ever... Thank you so much Ann. God bless you. Country: Nigeria Degree: Masters Course: Communication
This is so much value, thank you so much, just graduated from ABU zaria too last year november, looking forward to applying for a graduate school, I hope I don't get to beg for transcript at the senate building like you said, lol, I know how delaying they can be. Thank you once again.
I really want to study a master's degree in NY, right now I'm studying English in NYC because I only spoke Spanish , I'm from Colombia , but I feel that this process to get it is so long , I hope I can achieve this next year !
This is the best, most specific and informative video I have ever seen about how to write for a particular purpose - Graduate School Application: Statement of Purpose!
I can relate to how horrific it is to get your transcripts from a Nigerian school.. I have been on mine since November last year and gosh🤦🏾♀️.. I'm tired!
Hi, Aunty Ann, It’s Chubi Natasha Atokolo... Hope you remember me. You should😂. My Mum told me about your RU-vid Channel so glad I found it. I need all of this content right now and I hope to keep communicating with you.
This is a laudable development, it will definitely give people like me who are passionate about development of humanity an opportunity to contribute our quota to the development of mankind. My name is Oladejo Olawale Azeez, I am in Nigeria. "Global Health Policy" MASTERS, has always been the dream. God bless
Hi Dr Ann, thanks a lot for taking out time to explain in details to us. May God bless you. I have been stuck with my applications for about a year and I feel like I have been going round in circles but watching your videos has helped me a lot amd I am still willing to learn more. I studied pharmacy as my undergraduate and I am interested in doing my masters in public health.
I have learnt a lot since watching your videos Dr Ann. You're doing an amazing job. I would like to ask though how we can send our school transcript to WES. Is there an address please? Thanks for your time.
Ann, well done , this is great. Advice me on what to do gain admission in your school for medical physics masters program. I have 11 years teaching experience .
Thank you Dr Ann. I found your page just yesterday and I have learnt a lot. Could you please advise on how to stay back in US for further studies or work after your Masters. That is for international students that came in with F1 VISA.
Getting transcript from Nigerian universities is so frustrating. There was a time they mistakenly sent the wrong transcript to a scholarship body, I lost the scholarship after several sleepless nights to write good essays. Thanks for outlining this ‘Easy to follow’ guidelines.
Dr. Ann I literally 'study' all your videos back to back. I am looking forward to a rewarding career in Public Health. But I will need your guidance through out the application process. My name is Kehinde Akinsanya from Lagos Nigeria.
Thanks so much Dr. Ann for this tips, its quite helpful, however i would like to know if you could assist me with sop and cv review. Thanks in anticipation. Daniel.
Thanks for this amazing video. Although, I'm watching it late, but at a time that its most needed, cos I've been very impatient and worried about my application outcomes. Out of the 6 universities I applied to, I've received one rejection from MIT and no news from the others. I'm tempted to reach out to my potential supervisors to ask them for updates- dunno if that's a good idea. I'm sorry about your transcript experience at ABU, but I got mine without hassles about 7 years ago, however, getting my transcript from unilag where I did my masters was and is still a headache. I've been applying since 2018!
Wow I studied Sociology in my undergraduate degree, what are the options you suggest I should go for my Msc, I work with a Medical Laboratory outfit as a Receptionist and am getting so interested in the health areas, what do you suggest I apply for thank you So much Dr Ann. You are simply amazing
Good day Prof. Ann. My name is Chris. While I was trying to apply to a graduate school in the UK, I was asked to please give a brief details of how I plan to pay for my studies e.g self-funded, family, employer-funded, scholarship, etc. I plan on using just scholarship, but I don't know if I will still be offered admission if I say that. Thanks for your anticipated response.
In addition: applying for this schools demands recommendation letters. How were you able to get lecturers and work bosses to always write and mail such? Its really worrisome and disturbing going to same person for letters and to help you send letters and all that
dear Ann you are amazing thank you for the great info, I just have one question to ask from you. I already have a M.Sc. degree in molecular genetics and now I'm trying to apply for a second master in genetic counselling, which is my true passion. Do you think already having a Master could be an obstacle for me to become admitted in a genetic counselling program??? It would be great if you kindly give me some advice xxxx
Hello Dr Ann, thank you for these videos. They are very insightful. I watched one video of yours that said you had a 2nd class lower gpa. I thought most school have a gpa requirement of 3.0. What do you think made you competitive although you had a low gpa ?
Hello Dr Ann. Thanks for the value you drop here. I also studied Sociology, however my question is, do you think I have a chance at a Masters Degree in Psychology in the US. I'm asking here because some school here in Nigeria require a Medical or Science background to study Psychology.
Hi Many thanks for the video.. Please I wish to resume by September 2023 for my Masters program when is the best time to apply if I wish to ''japa'' by September 2023.
This is really informative. Please I would like to know if someone who's up to 32yrs and above can still get a postgraduate scholarship in US especially in public health.
Dear Dr Ann. Thank you for the tips and most especially for all that you do. I found this very helpful. I would like to ask, it is advisable to go straight to doing a Phd abroad. I mean, for probably people like me that have not travelled out before, I always feel like I need time to acclimatize and get used to the system, so that I can cope with studies at Phd level, because Phd is more of "on your own", I feel like one really needs to be conversant with life abroad, the terrain, environment etc in order to have a smooth study journey. So I always feel like I have to go for a masters degree before proceeding to Phd, though I already have a masters in Public Health from University of Ibadan. Pls what's your take on this issue.
Thank you for this! It's difficult picking just six schools out of so many lol i just graduated from the University of Port Harcourt, Department of Microbiolgy with a 2.1. which courses do you think I can apply for? I'm deep into preps for GRE and TOEFL atm
Hi Ann Thank you so much for your videos! Your tips are very valuable! I was wondering if you could answer a question I have. I'm applying for the next fall semester and I decided to apply to 6 universities. I'm trying to have some safe choices and this part of your video really called my attention. The question is, besides having the required GPA, TOEFL score and this kind of admission requirements, how I can be sure I exceed their expectations and that this choice is for sure a university that I will get in? thanks :)
Hi Dr Ann, thanks for the amazing tips. I'm also a graduate of Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Concerning your transcript, were you given a hard copy or they sent to the school you applied directly? I heard they don't give transcript at hand? Your thoughts please.
Hi Dr Ann, Thanks for your lessons and advice. I study dentistry in my undergraduate and I am interested in oral pathology/oral medicine in graduate school. I will be looking forward to your guidance. Thanks O. A Aderemi
Currently, many universities are dropping the gre/gmat requirements due to the covid. Yet saying they need a 3.0gpa. Comparing to the Nigerian school systems will a between 3.5-3.9 give an edge?
I have a question. Most master's programs for engineering require 3.0 minimum GPA and I meet that requirement but that's not good enough, right? That is the minimum. When you are referring to the requirements for graduate schools, are you referring to their 50th percentile scores and GPA?
Hi Ann! Thanks a lot for your very smart and helpful videos! Do you have any advice for people who would like to change careers after graduating in a certain field, please? I graduated with a bachelor's in Architecture, but after working in the field for a few years, I realized I want to change careers. Hence, I am currently applying for an MS in Computer Science, but I am not sure what's the best way to present my application. Should I factor in this fact in my application and statement of purpose? If yes, how, please?
What's the difference between a writing sample and student statements?? Those are requirements for the current grad school I'm applying to. Kindly assist,
Not all schools require WES evaluation cos mine didn't. Besides WES is super expensive and I wasn't ready to part with such an amount. So find out from the school first.
Hey Ann, so I want to know if I should still write GRE even if the school doesn't require it, if I want to be considered for scholarship. So should I still write GRE and submit with my application even if my school doesn't need it, so that I be considered for scholarship?
Hi 👋. So I just got admission for my masters at Purdue University. I have been on a hunt for scholarships but all of them are saying US citizens & permanent resident. From what you said should I still apply for them regardless? And did you get any scholarship that required you to be a US Citizen/permanent resident? Would be really glad if you can reply me. Thank you🙏 😊
