I’ve never finished a floor before, but it was time to redo our floating cork floors. The manufacturer told us to use only Loba 2K Supra. You just saved me so much time- this is way easier than what I was going to do! Thanks!

I've gotta try Loba, keep hearing great things about it. Right now I'm using Procoat Aquapro & pallman x power

I never pour water based onto the floor in puddles like this video shows. You are asking for trouble. If the finish seeps down between the planks and can cause the edges to curl. I always use a bucket and dip my roller in the finish. I’ve never had problems with the finish drying on the side of the bag.

I’ve been using loba for years .. there is no need for the bag in the bucket . Just use the bucket and won’t have any drying problems..also the 120 micron roller is designed to absorb the proper amount for applying a 36 square ft area .. much better results ..imo

Great content. I have been watching all your videos. I have a few questions if you don't mind. Do I need to sand between coats of this finish? If so, what is the wait time before applying more coats?
@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101
@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101 10 месяцев назад
No sanding between 1st and 2nd coats. Apply 2nd coat when 1st coat is dry, should only take 3 or 4 hours to dry. 2nd coat should be applied no more than 24 hours after 1st coat. 180 grit screen sand between 2nd & 3rd coats. 180 or preferably 220 screen sand between all subsequent coats. Vacuum, then wipe dust with either a damp cloth placed on mop head or a good dust mop before applying coats.

I'm looking for a stain color for red oak floors that are sanded bare currently. What color stain is on this project ?. It look nice, no "orange" showing thru from the red oak. Thanks, great videos.
@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101
That was special walnut stain. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Dave, I've spot tested several colors including special walnut. The special walnut on the red oak has that "orangey" tint. Looking at classic gray or western oak. Not sure yet, has become a challenge, have you encountered this? Appreciate your reply.

Went with Verathane Western Oak on our red oak (sanded bare) came out nice, no orange, mid brown color. Topped with 4 coats Bona Mega One.

What’s your opinion on Loba vs Bona Traffic Hd? I just finished sanding my floors and I’m looking for a good stain brand and finish that doesn’t “ember/yellow” with time
@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101
Both are excellent, my supplier carries Loba water based, and Fabulon oil based.

What stain brand do you recommend? Your videos have been extremely helpful doing my refinishing process!! Quick question? So I have my raw floors sanded to 100 grit. What’s my next step to stain? I had heard that I should use a buffer with 100 grit screen, your opinion on that? Then apply my stain? I’m confused on the steps!! Thanks for your help!!
@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101
@@taradriscoll3686 Duraseal stains I use most. Sometimes the customer will supply stain. I prefer oil, or lacquer based stains. Water based dry too fast and can leave dark marks if left too long. You can use circular buffer with carpet pad to apply the stain if you're comfortable with the buffer. Or manually as I show in some of my videos. Take your time during the staining finishing process, good luck! Thanks for watching my videos!

Loba is much easier to coat with then Bona Traffic. Loba is so smooth its dummy proof. Also if your final coat is a little foggy with Loba then that's perfect. Is my opinion Bona just has good commercials. A lot of Bona products are bad.

What are your thoughts on Loba 2K Supra AT satin finish? Can we use the finish after sanding and sealer without using a stain. Thanks.
@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101
Yes you can. 2 coats will suffice. Excellent quality finish!

@@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101 Thank you very much I’ve been watching you to try and figure out how to do this. I wish we could hire you. What should we use to change color. This all pretty new to me.
@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101
@@nancychen9549 Oil, or lacquer stain after sanding, prior to finishing. Oil is easier to work with as the dry time is longer. This video covers staining with oil based stain. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E7_JUpwW0NU.html

@@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101 Thank you ,we want to use water based because we have three kids. Are there good water based stains or should we just leave the natural color of our floor we think it is read oak
@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101
@@nancychen9549 All water based stains are similar. You need to work quickly with it at apply to floor by hand wiping. It dries very fast.

I just used a water based polyurethane on my hardwood floors because we refinished them but someone on fb told me I should have used oil or a wax because the maintenance for water based is a lot. Is he true?
@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101

Not true, good quality water based finish is fine for hardwood floors. Apply a minimum of 3, preferably 4 coats.

@@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101 I just parks pro finisher from Home Depot. Is that one ok? That’s what the worker recommended. We did 2 coats then buffed then 1 final coat. Should we have done 2 final coats?

You’re wrong, supposed to stir not shake and you shouldn’t put more than two coats in one day.

If you read the label it says to shake the finish as with all water based finishes. Oil based you stir. I applied one coat per day over 3 days. Thanks for watching 😊
