If you put Conjure Water on a Self spell and cast it while you're on fire, you can stop the fire effect. It also works in the Nether. I made a Self spell with Conjure Water, Dispel and a very strong Heal that is basically a one-button spell for "I'm having a bad time for whatever reason and I would like to instantly be perfectly fine again, thank you".
For those brand new to this mod like myself, Heres a tip i dont believe is particularly obvious. And it works even for just the base Mod (no peripheral mods needed): cold snap is extremely effective if paired with the Thread of Chilling since it ensures that any mob hit with the spell is going to get the full brunt of the effects each and every time. The same goes for the Thread of Kindling and Flare. What i like to do is apply AOE and Amplify and then bombard a single particularly dangerous enemy, like a fully armored skeleton, if they are in proximity to other mobs. It works akin to an elemental frag grenade Since the shower of ice or fire will almost always guarantee the majority of them will take at least some damage. I would not recommend using flare for this unless you don’t care about items or Experience, because even with Mage Fire from sensitive, it will likely burn up at least some of the drops.
Tier two is where ars really shines. End game stuff is bonkers but most people stay in the mid tier for most of the game play. Cold snap can be extremely useful by simply putting the chilling thread into an armor slot. Range cold snap cold snap amplify amplify can clear out entire hoards of mobs. You mentioned AOE on smelt but I suggest using pierce to increase the entities it can smelt each cast as AOE will work… but also smelt things you probably didn’t want to like logs or stone in the area. Crush can really maximize your resources with lots of things. Check Jei to see what the pack does with it. If nothing else the extra blaze powder is fantastic. A lot of the tier two glyphs really are incredible with spell turrets.
The reason crush didnt hurt the mobs is because you added sensitive, the reason the fish took 2.5 hearts is the harm spell (since you also haf sensitive in that version)
