The Auto-cut Silence function is only in the v 0.1, not in 0.2 ! Appreciate deeply Tux's intro video here, myself as a Hong Kong Chinese RU-vidr using this wonderful function. To save time, now we click choose each silent segment to mark them altogether for one click deletion (like using Ctrl + mouse left-click in Word, but at Olive it is Shift + left click). Then you need to ripple delete each empty space, one by one, by "Ripple Delete", quite time-consuming indeed. Many viewers are attracted to this video but have demands on "Auto-cut all silent segments", or "auto-cut all empty spaces (after the silent segments have been ripple deleted)". We note that each Silent Segment cut out is located alternative to each segment with sound--I suppose the author of Olive could "easily" add such function of Auto-cut All Silent Segments--thanks in advance, as a "greedy" user.

Ah, that's a bummer. I would expect 0.2 to have MORE features. I was trying to figure out where that option was. :(

I downloaded version 0.2.0 and right-clicked on the video in the time-line, a menu pops up, but this feature is not offered. Did they remove it? The menu in your video shows a lot more options. Am I missing something????? UPDATE: I download version 0.1 and this feature is apparently only available in THAT version. So I guess they removed in from 0.2.0...

Love the videos Tux, I've been using all of your Shotcut tutorials to start my channel, and they have been awesomely helpful, thank you. And, I'm not trying to be hateful here, just a suggestion: Since you're branching out into other software a bit more, maybe you could include which program you're teaching in the title or thumbnail. I don't know, just a thought.

Nice, exactly what I was looking for. Surprisingly not available in sony vegas. I do recommend like some others.... the whole learning on the fly and not knowing what things do isn't helpful and probably causes some confusion. Play around, figure out what things do exactly, Then inform the masses. Still, I appreciate your bringing this to my attention.

This video is obsolete. The feature was removed in version 0.2 of Olive. There have been no updates since then.

Cheers for posting the info. Just a small point though... too much guessing in this for me. I'd do a bit more research for a more authoritative video. Look into the tool first then record the video. Thanks for creating the video though 😀

Honestly annoyed. Title is "Remove Silence From a Video With 1 Click", but you spend 3/4th of the video not even directly and quickly explaining, but trying to "figure out" how the feature works, and at the end you just say "Oh, just use Ripple Delete!" which is definitely not a 1 Click solution and is _definitely_ not "automatic deletion", like your thumbnail claims.

Ive changed release time to 2. it selects perfectly but the problem is you cant select those silent area all at once if you wanna remove it. you have to delete them spaces one by one. did you find a way to delete all those silenced area at once?

Nice feature! Just FYI, in preferences-keyboard you can customize your shortcuts. I changed mine for ripple delete from shift-del to backspace

this is a really confusing video. it's more about you playing around with the settings instead of teaching what each value means. also my footage has no sound after applying 'autocut silence'???? do you know how to fix this? thanks

I like olive video editing software .it is simple Light and powerfull but sometimes when i exported my videos ..the sound of the video has been changed..like some time my voice will heavy sametime like chipmunks..what is the reason???

I recently noticed that using video that has framerate that differs from the sequence framerate can mess with pitch. Hating that issue :/

I use iMovie, this ins' something you can do with iMovie right?? any good editing apps thats easy to use like iMovie? I don't need all the extra features .. I just need these silent parts cuts out quickly. other a 20 minute video of editing takes me like 3 days!!

Don't do it hamfistedly though. Pauses are important for comprehensibility.

Did you notice the "?" interrogation point near the value you did not know the purpose? Maybe they would lead you to the answers :-)

You mean at the top right of the Cut Silence window? Yeah, I tried it but it doesn't work. Clicking the ? changes the cursor to a white circle with red outline and red line through and hovering or clicking anything in the window does nothing. Clicking only releases the cursor to normal. :(
